Hey /ck/
I'm a huge drinker of caffeinated beverages with a pretty big thing for Red Bull, but it's an expensive habit and I'm looking for ideas of drinks I can make at home and take to work that have caffeine in them.
I make cold brew coffee sometimes but I just get a bit sick of the same thing every day. Any fellow caffeine addicts have any ideas?

Why not just take caffeine pills if that's all you're after?

If you're really desperate you can buy caffiene powder and add it to whatever you want. This is a good way to elevate a dumb dependency into a serious problem if you lack sense or self-control though.

The sort of cool caffeine addiction you're trying to cultivate is pretty passé even amongst nerds and was always prison-bitch tier anyway so you're probably better off just weening yourself off it.

Find a poorman's energy drink. I buy bulk buy Aldi energy drinks. Only $1 for one. Doesn't quite taste the same as red bull, but it still tastes like an energy drink

you see there's this really amazing brown drink that a lot of people drink every goddamn day. In fact, it was one of the first sources of caffeine available to humanity. its brown and you can add cream or sugar or none at all or ice pretty much anything you can think of. You can even get it made for you in restaurants dedicated to serving the stuff.

Its your mom's shit,

As a med student and resident I rely on caffeine pretty heavily and have to be cheap. Best thing to do is switch over to caffeine pills. You can get the equivalent of a few hundred energy drinks in one $5 bottle of generic brand pills. There is nothing ib an energy drink that does much other than caffeine. You piss out the B vitamins unless you are deficient which is very rare, only seen in 3rd world malnutrition and vegans. Avoiding the sugar will also be better for your teeth, your health, wallet and actually your energy long term. If you think you are addicted to the taste you're not, it is just the caffeine. You are literally pissing away your money with energy drinks, especially ones like Red Bull.
