now i'm no fatologist, but i'm pretty sure both animal fat and most vegetable fats are healthy. as long as you watch the calorie intake.

the only bad fats: hydrogenated fat/trans fat, and excessive omega 6 fat (safflower, grapeseed, sunflower).

the body needs fat.

it's unsaturated anyway... you have an eating disorder or something?

listen fuckboi, I want a snack so I open my cabinet and grab a handful of them and eat them for a snack. Or if I'm going to want a snack away from home I can put some in a baggy and eat them whenever I wish.

that's just sampling, not snacking, snacking involves eating something throughout the day to equal a full meal in between meals

the body can convert fat into whatever it needs. doesn't matter if it's animal or vegetable fat. too much fat is bad.

How the fuck do you pick out a ripe watermelon?

I always pick the green-est one thats most heavy and least amount of white spots etc but still open up a bland piece of fucking styrofoam everytime i cut into one.

you knock on it, if it makes a thud sound it is ripe.

>> No.5558358

yellow only on the bottom, heavy for its size, brown not green stem

ignore all the retards about to post about thumping

>> No.5558360

>>5558353
Put your ear to it and flick it or tap it.
You want the one that makes the most hollow 'thump'

For potatoes, smell them.
The ones that smell the most like dirt are the freshest. If they've been sitting there a while, they won't smell like much of anything except rot.

From that site: "I want to start with a disclaimer: I am not an expert ripe watermelon picker, and, just because a watermelon is ripe doesn't mean it will be perfectly sweet."

I grow crimson sweet and yellow doll and well as musk melons every season as did my father and his parents. I dont need a website to tell me how to tell when I watermelon is ripw

Daniel Egel, a pest management specialist at the Southwest-Purdue Agricultural Center, said a watermelon's appearance and feel are better gauges than the time-honored practice of tapping on the outer skin. Egel formerly worked for a watermelon seed company as a plant pathologist.

"There are some things I look for when I go to the supermarket or roadside stand," Egel said. "With me, I downplay 'thumping' the watermelon. In the field they don't stop to thump the watermelons, they just look at them."

1. LOOK – Your watermelon should be firm, symmetrical and free of major bruises or scars. Some minor scratches are okay, however. After all, the purpose of that thick rind is to protect the delicious contents inside. Ripe watermelons should also be dark green in color.

2. LIFT – The ripest watermelons have the most water. And since watermelons are 92 percent water, your watermelon should be relatively heavy for its size.

3. TURN – Turn your watermelon over and check out its bottom, which should have a creamy yellow spot (also called “the ground spot”). This is where the watermelon sat on the ground while it soaked up the sun at the farm. If this spot is white or greenish, your watermelon may have been picked too soon and might not be as ripe as it should be.
