Anyone ever try anything with octopus? Out of a can? Also positive canned seafood thread. Happy endings.

I love sardines, but I try to think of them more as junk food than seafood. I just love opening a can during my lunch break at work. I get to piss off my coworkers AND enjoy delicious flavor at a minimum of cost and effort? Fucking SOLD.

wouldn't neo imply that it went away?
also, old /ck/ wouldn't use ketchup, they would use only the most expensive canned tuna they could find, make their own mayo from scratch and only serve it on bread made with properly aged sour dough.

I hope you don't mean these things, because these are downright repulsive and don't even taste like oysters..

this, sardines are wonderful and great for you, I used to always bring them as part of my lunch when I worked at a recycling center because I felt like they helped give me the energy I needed to make it through the hot summer days, my co workers hated me for it though since it would stink up the office room, lol

Just tried octopus for the first time yesterday.. Was boiled, fresh octopus in a salad with potatoes and olives. Was amazingly good. Couldn't stop thinking about how it tasted exactly like a mix between tuna and chicken, but with a bit of a funky taste. I can imagine it does well canned too..

I was in Portugal a year ago or so, and they do canned fish really well. Personally I really dislike all the smoked varieties (like smoked mussels), but the others are really good.

Never tried canned octopus but King Oscar brisling sardines are delightful. So far I've onlly used them on salad though. Anybody know what else these things are good for?

Make Fisherman's Eggs. Google it. I make them every Sunday morning and they are so full of protein I don't need to eat until dinner.

I was in Vigo in Galicia March/April. The Pulpo there is damn good. No idea what it'd be like in a can though.
