Can't eat the crust. It tastes and feels almost fried, and they're REALLY heavy-handed on the grease or whatever. I would rather spend an extra few dollars on Papa John's (if I had to choose a national chain.) There's also a local spot nearby with a decent pizza for $5.50.

No problem here. I like Pizza Hut. But you have to tell them to bake it "well done", or it IS pretty bad. The on in the pic is well done, and it's perfect (for as for Pizza Hut standard). I like bed because of that crunchy exterior and soft, almost milk flavored interior. The sauce is damn good. The cheese is pretty good, especially with that browning.

That's a good Pizza Hut offering there.

I bought a stone and my bases STILL taste like shit. They're too biscuity, if I try to cook them less they just taste of uncooked dough. Tried it dozens of times, the only way I can get anything edible is by making it paper fucking thin and crispy. I don't get it. Gonna try baking one at 200c for twenty minutes next, but I don't have high hopes since the advice is always to cook it as fast as possible on the highest heat possible.

Cooking it at the highest heat possible is the only way to get the results you are looking for, it's not an issue with your recipe or prep, I'm sure.

A good way to get the temps you need is to warm a stone on the BBQ and cook it that way. You should experiment.

Yeah I do. I've tried many different timings and several types of flour, usually using 00 as recommended in most recipes. Still can't nail it. I let my dough rise for about an hour til it doubles in size, then hand press it to shape.

old fag here. My Mother managed a pizza hut in the 80's. She was a single mom and couldn't afford a baby sitter so I would sit in the back and color while the cooks would keep an occasional eye on me. I remember them making fresh dough in a giant mixer and all the veggie toppings came in whole and required hand or machine slicing. They also made thier own sauce. I got to help make pizzas from time to time and always got to make my own personal pan. Shit was waaaaay better back in the day.


Also, I distinctly remember the veggie slicer due to my mother slicing the tips of her fingers off on it one night.

No one ever washed their hands.

The case with all of the toppings was never closed, and not refrigerated.

We clean the work stations with stagnant disinfectant shit that we put in buckets and use throughout the day with the same disposable rags.

You have a high chance of getting salmonella because most employees just forget to handle raw chicken with gloves and then go around touching just about everything.

At least I never watched anyone intentionally spit in the food.

So yeah. Pizza Hut is *GREAT* OP.

But that, sir, is a Domino's Pan pizza, not a Pizza Hut pan pizza. You can tell because Dominos distributes their cheese all the way to the edge so that the crust has a distinct burnt cheese ridge around the pie.

On pizza hut pan pizzas you can distinctly make out the outer crust as a separate section in regards to the cheese.

I used to really love Pizza Hut and thought it was the best of the fast food pizza chains. Past couple years though, it's been really hit or miss. Sometimes I'll get an amazing pizza, sometimes I'll get an awful pizza. I really don't get it. I find myself gravitating to the smaller pizza chains like Jet's or Marco's more and more.

Eh I'm a bit the opposite. When both my mom and dad were working days both would be exhausted, and dad would grab a little ceasers like once a week every week on the way home. It was nice and good at the time but burned me out of them.

Likewise for years before that, we had pizza and a movie every thursday. And it was always stuffed crust. completely turned me off pizza hut. I only get it when I have one of those stuffed crust cravings now.

Papa johns on the other hand I buy because of the value, but been getting so many lately will probably burn out soon on that. So many sports teams around here all affiliated, and whenever one wins its 50% the entire order, making $20 extra large specialties 10 something which is a hella bargin compared to anywhere else.

Dominos.. its ok I guess. The only one we have is completely on the other side of town. I don't do delivery because $2 charge + at least $2 tip per $10 ordered, so that 4-6 bucks is a no no. So doms is pretty rare. I get some my coke rewards gift cards for them around xmas and is about the only time I have it
