Remember back when In-N-Out was exclusive only to the west coast, particularly in most parts of southern california?

People used to rave about how good it was to make the east coast jealous.

Since its gone nationwide though everyone knows that In-N-Out is nothing special so why do Southern Californians still rave about this place?

They don't give you enough fries, and they just taste like chewy potatoe chips anyway. Also on a busy day, they won't make you a 4x4, and some restaurants have cut them out completely.

People still wanna feint over how good this place is even though it's just average. Keep showing your shit taste in food though.

no, it's not perfect so theres always going to be a couple things you don't like with it

I like their burgers, but I don't like their fries
and I don't like how all the ones in my state dump a bunch of greasy hot fries all over my burger

Replace In-N-Out with any regional chain, and you could say the same thing. People like familiar things and stuff that reminds them of home. That's all. There's no fast food chain worth the amount of raving they get, it's all nostalgia based.

Are you fucking kidding? Have you ever even been to California? You do realize that there's more to the state than just LA, right? Because while yes, LA is full of pompous assholes, there's another 163,193 square miles of the state. And there's lots of people in those miles that are disgruntled and have issues with the state or are trying to initiate change. That whole persona you are trying to attribute is a caricature. To understand In-N-Out's acclaim you have to understand what Fast Food was like in the West Coast all the way up to the mid-2000s.

Everything was SHIT except for In-N-Out and your mom and pop joints. Fast Food was greasy and nothing was fresh. In-N-Out was a shining beacon for those who only had change in their pocket. Everything is cut fresh, the meat is decent, and the cheese isn't plastic.

Since then and since In-N-Out went national the fast food chains have improved exponentially. Hell even McDonald's has gotten much better and Wendy's makes a good greasy burger today. I don't know if it's fresher or if they just improved the process for their premade produce but it definitely tastes better.

So In-N-Out isn't as extraordinary as it was back then. And you've got more trendy/expensive places to eat like Five Guys. Still when I only have $10 in my wallet I'll go to In-N-Out because I know the burger will be decent and their coffee is actually great.

The first time I tried it it was really good, but ever since I haven't enjoyed it as much.
The problem I think is that the bacon was perfect the first time, slightly soft and crispy,
but ever since it's just been straight crunchy which I don't enjoy.

The places are usually quite empty except for peak time and their choice of location,
they never have a building of their own, always attached to a shopping area.

In-N-Out is great for the price, I've tried way better burgers, but they cost so much more that I only get them once a month or so.

Totally agree. Same thing happens with Five Guys on the east coast. I had never seen a five guys till I was in North Carolina and everyone raved and said how amazing it was and I had to go. I got a totally flavorless burger that was way too greasy and a big nasty bag of greasy as shit fries. Barely ate my burger, ate one or two fries but threw the rest away. Mostly ate the peanuts they leave in the barrels to justify the $8 I spent. Have never returned.

I work at Five Guys and deal with dumb fucks like you all the time. Rip the bag and grab your burger first. It's not that fucking hard.

Whataburger is good stuff. I think In N Out is pretty good too for fast food but goddamn Whataburger is great for fast food, In N Out is a one trick pony. Nothing sucks at Whataburger. The burgers, fries, chicken, breakfast, everything is solid. Even the ketchup and mustard are better than your average place.

I've heard of the Tornado Burger several times now, I'll need to check it it out one of these days. It isn't that long of a drive but seems so far away, I'm one of those fags that never leaves the inner loop because everything else is too far.

Canadafag here

A Carls jr recently opened up in my city and everyone is crazy about it for some reason. I had it in Las Vegas and it was okay, but it was terribly overpriced for what it was. The combo was like $10 and it was just a fucking ordinary burger and fries. 5/10 would not have again.

This isn't some new shit for us. We have a couple of 5 Guys in my city, and I think it's way better. I dunno, it seems any new American chain that gets established here is suddenly the hottest shit in town even if it's not that good.

Southern New Mexico here, I'm really happy to see green chiles slowly becoming more of a nationwide thing.

It's almost like things get worse when they become huge and corporate, and buying locally is always better. WHO WOULDA THUNK IT?

I think they're pretty good. In fact, I think they're one of the better fast food chains. Don't know what's wrong with your store though. The Sante Fe chicken sandwich is great.

First McDonald's was my favorite. Then I turned 12 and had Fuddrucker's for the first time. But they kept making the burgers too dry.

Then, right before I turned 21, some weird place called "Culver's" opened up, about a fifteen minute drive away. Jesus christ. Triple butter burger with cheese, large order of onion rings, sweet potato fries, and fucking MALTS. I had all of those for a first meal there. Compared to McD's bullshit usually being the closest thing near me, Culver's blew me away, man. I can't go all the time since I'd like to save gas, but you know, like once a month I'll drive up there on my cheat day with about two or three beers in me and WHAMMO. Plus their TVs are always on SPORTS and not the fucking news, so that's another plus.

Nationwide? What is this faggotry?

Are they great burgers? No. Are they great fast food burgers? Yes.

And yeah the fries suck, I think they get slightly better if you order them well done. Then at least it's like a crunchy potato chip
