ITT, we discuss/share our favorite cocktails. I couldn't find a thread about this, so I figured fuck it.

My current favorites involve tequila.

1. Vampira: 1 1/2 ounce tequila (reposado IMO is best), 1 ounce Clamato, 1 ounce lemon juice, couple dashes Cholula hot sauce, Squirt soda to top.

2. Classic Margarita: 2 ounces tequila (again, I like reposed), 1/2 ounce triple sec, 1 ounce lime juice, salt on rim.

Post'em! Also, inb4 preassembled mixes......

Being that time of a year, I love a good mint julep.

One that sticks in my mind was this one thing from a cocktail bar I went to maybe two years ago. Mint, lychee, vodka, and some things I've not been able replicate since. It was very sweet but it was summer so who cares.

I have this habit of drinking this really cheap really tart thing that I can't remember where the recipe came from. You squeeze out half a lime into a tumbler with some ice and drop the rest of it right in afterwards. Smash the lime once or twice with a pestle and then add equal parts cheap sweet bourbon and cranberry juice. If you hate yourself you can salt the rim with citric acid.

Right now I'm staring at a bottle of gin and a chilli and I'm trying to think of something to do with them. It is winter and I don't mind breathing fire.

I've tried a huge variety of cocktails and mixed drinks but to me a galiano white russian beats all. With cream, not milk.

OP here. I'm actually drinking a White Russian right now. To make the Galliano, do I float it or do I just blend it in?

I mostly drink whiskey, so I like a good whiskey cocktail.

My favorite is probably the Sazerac:

I make an easy whiskey sour using a splash of lemonade.

I know you think that's the same thing, but that is really just a lynchburg lemonade

Works fucking well though and is close enough

Manhattan: bourbon, sweet vermouth, bitters on ice.

Whelp, since my whiskey go-tos have already been mentioned.

Blood and Sand

1 1/2; oz Scotch
3/4; oz Cherry Heering
3/4; oz sweet vermouth

it's sweet enough without blood orange, use a tarter orange to balance, it looks bloody red already

Excellent choice. I love a good Sazerac, but I have a heck of a time getting the Sazerac rye itself. The Party Source sells out quick and they only sell you one bottle per transaction.

My favorite is probably a Negroni. Easy to make and hard to fuck up, it's equal parts gin, sweet vermouth and Campari over ice. It is a fantastic blend of bitter and sweet, and it wakes up your taste buds making it a perfect pre-dinner cocktail.

I usually mix them with a shot of each, stirred with ice and strained into a chilled iced rocks glass.

I made a cinnamon screwdriver.

This is the shot version I made (which I layered pretty well I think).

But the drink version I made is 1 shot, 1/2 shot (or less) of simple syrup (made with cinnamon) and then 3-4 shots of OJ.

It's really good you guys.

If I am feeling fancy and manage to have all the ingredients, Captain Handsome it is.

1-1/2 ounces gin
1/2 ounce creme de violette
1/2 ounce fresh lime juice
1/4 ounce limoncello
Dash of absinthe
splash of chilled soda water
1 branded cherry

Otherwise, just put some liquor in a glass...I don't care.

I like an old fashioned or whiskey and coke.

Classic Old Fashioned

2 ounces rye whiskey
1/2 ounce simple syrup (or a sugar cube mixed in a splash of water if you want to go traditional and spend 5 minutes getting the same result)
2 dashes bitters (I prefer orange, but Angostura works too
Put all ingredients into a short glass and stir. Add ice cubes as needed.
