I'm kind of a le edgy film school dropout type, so his films really appeal to me. However, he's a lot more hit and miss than Werner Herzog, but that's a product of basically spending every waking moment of his life making films. It's a shame that America doesn't have the extensive grants that the best European film making countries do/did.
