I can understand that, but I watched it on a whim and don't really eat sushi. From my point of view, it was really enjoyable watching people do something so exceptionally.

Its sort of inspired my own ambitions lately, having that kind of work ethic is admirable.

I imagine I'd enjoy any documentary about professionals being so... fucking good.

It got pretty boring halfway through, but it seemed less about his chef skills and more about how rigid his thinking is and how he is a horrible father. Also, Jiro's restaurant seems more well known in English speaking countries than Japan, probably thanks to the movie.

Big Night - Charming

El Bulli: Cooking in Progress - Food as high art isn't my thing, but I still found it an interesting watch

The God of Cookery - martial arts meets cooking spoof - pissing balls is all you really need to know

Soul Kitchen - A little bit of BS politics written in annoyingly snarky lines, but I still like it. Shitty restauranteur and jaded chef meet up to make something honest.

I found The God of Cookery a little weak. The story was pretty engaging, but the pacing was slow and erratic. It's probably worth checking out, but don't bother finishing it if it doesn't grab you in the first half an hour or so.

I didn't think so at least. It would have been better with maybe a greater and more detailed description of the foods at the end. That one old guy who actually liked the food was one of the few good things.
