Didn't see one, so here we go.

I cooked a steak & brisket burger with red onions, tomato, serrano, but forgot to buy any fucking lettuce lol. Also made some fresh guacamole. Was good.

What about the rest of you co/ck/s?

If there is one, it's pretty fucking obscure, and I'm probably not hip enough to have heard of it.

Eh? Thats weird, how did you cook it? Do you mean you ground steak and brisket into a patty?

I'm not OP but that's exactly what it implies to me. Many people make hamburgers from generic "ground beef" but different cuts have different flavors. Short rib is my first choice, it's so much more flavorful than chuck. Brisket is nice too--it has a sweet taste, but I find that it's a bit too lean to use by itself so you need to add some fat to it, or mix it with a fattier cut.

>>5496918
I didn't grind it myself, but yeah, steak and brisket ground up together.
I cooked it on a cast iron griddle. Would have used my hibachi since it's beautiful outside, but I figured since I was only doing the one, no point starting a fire.

dunno about that but ive taken shredded brisket and mixed it with ground beef before and made a patty, also good with fine chopped bacon mixed in with ground beef instead of brisket

That sounds great, I've never had or heard of a burger patty made from ground brisket. I may request the butcher to grind some for me just to try it, my favorite meat is smoked brisket. What do yal suggest I mix with it to make it fattier and less dry?

>> No.5496971

>>5496929
what are you talking about when you say steak? and are you also just talking about raw brisket? if so its not really any different from any other ground beef

>> No.5496979

>>5496955
add some minced bacon or salt pork and wrap in caul fat like a crepinette

>> No.5497018

>>5496955
>hat do yal suggest I mix with it to make it fattier and less dry?

Check the brisket before it's ground. If it hasn't been trimmed much then there will be enough fat on the brisket to make it work. However many briskets are trimmed of most of the fat at the packing plant. If that's the case then you need to add fat, or a fattier cut of meat. I usually use pork fatback. It's basically un-rendered lard.

>>and are you also just talking about raw brisket? if so its not really any different from any other ground beef

And again, I'm not the poster you directed the question to, but I'm thinking it is just raw brisket. It really does have a different taste than generic "ground beef" (which is usually chuck).

>> No.5497033

>>5497018
yeah but not a whole lot of difference, smoked brisket+ground beef made into a patty and then a burger would be much better

i made some spaghetti and meatballs for the first time. it was awesome. the meatballs were so good.. pasta was good.

The sauce i made from just half an onion, couple cloves of garlic, and dehydrated celery, and a can of tomato sauce lol. It turned out WAY better then it sounds. i think it was the garlic, and the olive oil i added.

no pics.

I don't remember what kind of steak, I threw the package out already. Wasn't ribeye or anything, I think top sirloin. Most ground beef is chuck, or more often whatever scrap is left over. Anyway, it tasted pretty damn good, better than run of the mill burger.

Had a repeat today, but this time with avocado slices, tomato, red onion, serrano pepper slices, kale, cilantro, and sharp cheddar. Again, was fucking good.

I grew up with that that soup. This place near me has the closest to like how yiayia (granma) used to make it. Sadly, nowhere uses orzo. Though the family sometimes used rice anyway.
