I've recently started dieting, and while I've lost a good bit of weight already, I wanted to know what /ck/ thought of how I've been doing it. I make big batches of stir fry for me and my fiance, and I use a fist size portion of meat and as many vegetables as I want. The broth here is lamb broth that I made myself, I used about 1/3 of it to make the sauce for the stir fry. Does this look about right for 6-8 meals worth of food (along with a bit of rice, of course)?

>> No.5433867

Also, is there anything else I can/should add? Fiance doesn't like broccoli, cauliflower, kale, or spinach.

It's hard to tell, but it definitely looks healthy and something I would eat myself. Don't worry about it too much. If your food is healthy, eat until you're full but not so full you can barely move and that's it.

>> No.5433908

Do you exercise?

If you think you'll make a significant impact on your weight without that than you're not dieting but farting.

>> No.5433914

That hardly looks like enough for one or two meals, 6-8 would be insane. You need more calories than that, even if you're trying to lose weight

I've started taking daily walks, about 4000 steps a day. Will eventually work that up to 10000 steps a day.

I put it on top of about half cup of rice, we each eat 4 scoops of the veggies/meat/sauce and a 2 cups of rice a day, along with 1 egg, half a steamed bun, and 3 dumplings each. So it's not really as little as it looks.

err, I put it on half cup to 1 cup of cooked rice, depending on if i have stuff on the side or not.

It's more than I was before, which was 0. I was basically housebound for years, give me a break. I'll do more when my body can handle it, will probably start walking a bit farther next week.

add some extra weight while walking and do some body weight workouts

I don't need to add any extra weight, I have plenty around my waistline already. When that comes off I will consider your idea.

you get rid of it a lot faster & be healthier if you do more than just walk but what ev its your body

I've been losing 3 pounds a week. Would prefer to lose at 1-2 lbs a week, because that's the healthiest rate of weight loss. More than that and I risk medical complications. Walking is all I can handle at the moment, and if I manage to lose enough weight to do other forms of exercise, I will discuss with a doctor what would be best for me.

Walking around with weights isn't going to do shit. You actually have to move the weights against gravity and you have to use as much as you can.

Ad if you're also the guy who said you can't lose weight just through dieting then you're wrong on that too. Weight loss is nothing more and nothing less than (Calories in)-(Calories out)=(Net calories). Diet is the most impactful in that equation unless you're going to jog at a minimum of 6mph for an hour each day.

of course walking around carrying more weight than you are used to will burn more calories and increase strength. why do you think they sell ankle weights?

and ofcourse you can lose weight though only dieting but its faster and healthier to also exercise than dieting alone. also weight training burns more than cardio

Because retards will buy them. Do you really think 5 extra pounds while you're in a standing position is going to provide any resistance?

>also weight training burns more than cardio
I swear, this bullshit needs to stop.

Oh god, this guy again. Teach us about how it's a good idea to eat 1500 calories of glucose every day.

>> No.5434588

Guys, we aren't fit, can we not bother the guy about his exercising habits? The food looks nice, the main thing is making sure you're fulfilled, and that your diet is sustainable. If you feel like you're eating enough and you're not going to relapse into comfort eating, then you're doing great.

If walking is exercise to you, I must assume that you are morbidly obese and have difficulties with any physical activity. May I ask how much you weigh, anon?

>> No.5434854

>>5434586

He didn't say that was a good idea, or that it was healthy. Just that it would result in weight loss, which is true.

>If walking is exercise to you, I must assume that you are morbidly obese and have difficulties with any physical activity.
I think that is pretty obvious. Why point it out? He is obviously putting more thought into a healthy lifestyle and is doing something about it.

A couple of miles of walking isn't much to me, but it may be a lot for someone who has serious weight or other health issues and has been living a sedentary lifestyle for a long time.

He is at least being realistic, instead of sitting around pretending he'll join a gym next month or jogging for 30 min/lifting hard for an hour and being out of commission for a bit (and unable to get into a routine).

Yes, and? Water is a chemical. It's the kind of useless "truth" that neckbeards think is god (who doesn't exist) given wisdom, whereas in fact it adds nothing to the discussion and counts as shitposting

I've already hidden about six "HOW DO I LOSE WEIGHT/DIET" threads so there's that.

>> No.5435084

>>5435004
What in the fuck does that have to do with what he said?

>> No.5435088

>>5435004

I'd argue the real shitposting is taking the argument down a different path. Nobody here mentioned healthy diet. What was discussed was weight loss. The comments about whther or not that was healthy may certainly be true, but is also irrelevant to the topic at hand. It would be no different than if I started talking about the rice cooker in OP's photo. OP asked about weight loss. That's the topic. Other details like the relative healthiness of the diet are outside that topic.

/fit/ here, count your calories. What you looks like physically is about 80% diet and 20% exercise, fuck that idiot who said you won't make any impact without exercise. You should exercise because it's good for you, but he was uninformed. Keep carbs low and lean proteins and fibrous vegetables high, or do whatever as long as you're at a caloric deficit and you'll lose weight. You're gonna make it brah.

If you have scoliosis you should be doing core exercises with a focus on strengthening your lower back, consider doing pilates or yoga, helped me heaps. Also that is way too little food for 8 meals.. even with dieting IMO. Losing 2-3 pounds a week sounds pretty unhealthy
