What studies can anyone cite re: porcine intelligence?

Anecdotal stories say they're smarter than the average bear.

Living with them out in the Arco Desert makes me think this is truer than fiction.

How smart is a pig?

I would still eat them, I just would not eat my pet. Lots of grey areas in sapience in general to make a significant point for either side.

i read a book in high school and apparently they are smart enough to take over and properly run a barn and form some kind of government.

Nothing "deserves" to be killed, really. If you think everything on the planet is here to "serve" you and "deserves" to be consumed by you I don't really know what to tell you, you are a hideous human being.

I'm not OP, and the thread clearly isn't about food.

If pigs started to evolve or adapt or whatever to where their flesh started to taste bitter and nasty, or they suddenly started fighting back against their captors and developing speech or some other form of communication to us, then yes. I'd stop eating them.

But until then.. nah. Pork is just too tasty to 'not' eat.

About equal to a retarded human. Any more than that, and you get back into the killable zone.
