So /ck/, what differences in cooking style/techniques do different countries have?

America: poison everything in the fields first, then add more poison in the factory. "Cooking" consists of removing the food from the box, and placing it upon a plate (optional)

Well since it's already off to a great start with the shitposting I don't want to spend much time in this thread, but that's a pretty broad question. If you want to actually have a good idea then you will need a lot of research considering as I sit here and think about with my limited knowledge I think I could write a decent sized book on the subject.

the Chinese utilize a lot of steaming.
They also have this method of wok cooking where they dry heat the wok up to a red hot point. Ladle in some oil then flash cook everything.

Western people like slicing knives, chinks like choppas, and weebs like a hybrid of the two.

that's just not right.

Maybe a better question. Where could I go to learn about the subject?

Other countries.

>> No.5395712

this question is so ridiculously broad that unless you catch a complete autist in a good mood you're not gonna get any useful responses.

you'll be learning different techniques your whole life.

You have no idea who you're dealing with do you? I've been to over 50 countries before I was 12, I'm in a very elite school, and my parents travel budget was over $1 million dollars last year. Have you ever met Heston Blumenthal? He was our family's private chef. I have been to France, Ireland, Malwi, Columbia, Bolivia, Ukraine, Slavokia, Lao, Cambodia, and Thai, not to mention having hunted and fished beyond your wildest dreams. I am not saying this to brag but just so you understand the calibre (I use the British spelling as I am a citizen of everywhere) of the persons you're dealing with here.

I'm an American but a better American than you. You might say I'm what makes America exceptional.

yes but it is like saying 'sup marine biologists, what kind of things live in the ocean'

you might get some random facts but no one's gonna go to the effort of organising things in an instructive fashion.

well this is a tandoor oven it's used in some indian cuisines. They pretty much either dangle stuff in or stick it to the sides

well, it's not like it'd be hard...

there are of course
- bacteria
- planktons
- plants (seaweed)
- fish ( angelfish,parrotfish)
- mammals (cetaceans like humpback whales, carnivores like a leopard seal, sirenians like dugong)
- birds ( king penguins, albatross)
- reptiles (green sea turtle, marine iguana)
- invertebrates (various squid and octopus)
there. 90% of the sea life summed up in one post, with one or two examples added. I'm not even a marine biologist.

no, but you are one of the aforementioned complete autists in a good mood.

nah, I just like to read about ocean life, it's fun. And I'm watching a tv show on binge, but recently it got so boring I begun posting on 4chan while it goes in the left corner of my monitor.

Thats's covering 90% of all of cooking in one post, with one or two pokémon added. I´m not even an autist.
OP Really this is a question where wikipedia would help you out. Cooking + culture is just too immense to write in a hrowawy frum.
