So /ck/, what are you making for Easter?

Nothing, I bought some ham slices, a loaf of olive loaf, and some pear butter at the farmer's market for sandwiches later and now I'm stoned and eating a quark and hot sweet red pepper jelly sandwich on a homemade sandwich loaf. I'm not even Xtian, just the farmer's market and 4/20 are both today :)

Herb and garlic roasted leg of lamb w/ oven roasted potatoes in a lemon-dijon sauce, cornbread stuffing, string bean casserole, stuffed mushrooms and yams

>> No.5371872

currently I have rabbit stock going.

Going to braise the legs after said stock is done and stuff the saddle with braised leg meat and other shit I feel like putting in and wrap it in prosciutto or bacon and roast it. Just winging it at the moment.

I'm letting my mom do the rest of the shit

Is lamb traditional Easter food? Grew up with non-adventerous cooking parents. We just have ham.

>> No.5371911

Nothing extravagant, just a lemon honey chicken, green beans, bread, and mashed potatoes.

Well, there's just three of us, so we opted for something simple. We're just having a beef roast, with roasted carrots and onions, mashed potatoes, and roasted asparagus.

>> No.5371973

Nothing. going to a friends home. They are making baked ham, deviled eggs, mashed potatoes, brussel sprouts, and strawberry shortcake. Beer, iced tea and coffee.
Should be nice, and no clean up.

I try to keep holiday meals from getting boring, and make ethnic foods. Sushi on Christmas, that type of thing. Family loves it. Doing red lentil curry for Easter.

Lentils with lamb?

>> No.5372178

Roast leg of lamb with garlic and herbs
Scalloped red potatoes
Braised kale

Lamb has been in for a couple hours, potatoes went in about 30 mins ago. Should both be ready in another 30-45 mins then I just need to cook up the kale and slice the lamb and it'll be time to eat. Oh, and I need to make some sauce with some of the pan juices, mint, vinegar and some honey as well.

Potato salad

That potato salad was a heck of a lot of work, but then again I did all the prep today, including hard-boiling some eggs that didn't go too well. It ended up a bit less well seasoned than I'd like, but my family enjoyed it and I got practice doing stuff.

Too bad I'm stuck with the dishes ;___;

For later: strawberry rhubarb pie
