Why does fountain soda taste 10x better than bottles and cans?

Sugar.

maybe not cans but it sure beat the bottled stuff.

I think it may be that the fountains mix the seltzer water and soda syrup as it dispenses. that might give it a fresher taste

>> No.5353821

>>5353771
It doesn't because the fountains mix more water than syrup.

>> No.5353824

Plastic is a disgusting material

>> No.5353823

It has less sugar. The syrup is mixed with carbonated water when you press it.

The concentration so syrup is slightly less than packaged.
So it tastes lighter.

You can try buy a bottled or canned one, add some ice water to it. They'll taste the same.

I don't know why but I can't stand bottled or canned coke. If I get it at a restaurant, its fine. But out of the bottle its got a strange taste, almost like it has too much caramel.

>> No.5354020

FIRST of all,

I fucking HATE fountain soda in NYC. It's always FLAT and tastes like sugar water. Even the seltzer water has a slightly sour taste to it (in McD's, anyway).

I never buy big liter bottles because that shit gets flat FAST. Small bottles are better, but my favorite are the cans. And I always prefer seltzer because even one can of sugared soda has enough sugar in it to last you the whole day. I drink Diet every once in a long while.

I guess fountain soda tastes better outside of New York? Because I've never encountered good fountain soda here, ever. I'd rather coffee or sweet tea.

If you don't refrigerate it, it will generally last longer. If you want it cold, just add ice after pouring into a glass.

Glass bottle coke free from hfcs reigns supreme IMO

Also, some places skimp on the syrup. I've also heard of technicians adjusting the machines to put out too much syrup so that they sell more syrup. And some companies will adjust the machines to put out less syrup.

Also campus fountain drinks suck because they're cheapasses who skimp on the syrup. Probably also they never clean the machines.

Mexican sodas are a treat. For a while I was drinking a lot of Jarritos tamarind but that stuff has even more sugar than a lot of the American sodas I drink. I'm addicted to tamarind flavor though. If they cut the sugar a bit and made the tamarind flavor a little stronger, it'd be perfect.

Why?
Just get a Fizz Giz for $40. Uses off-the-shelf 16g CO2 chargers and works with any non-coke brand bottle that the lids fit on. (coke lids are different).

Soda Stream is fucking TERRIBLE because you can't shake the bottle after injecting. You NEED to shake the container to get the CO2 to quickly diffuse into the water.

Oh, also, Soda Scammer's warranty is voided if you use it on anything but water.

I worked at a restaurant in Chile and the owner was a cunt. He wanted to use as little syrup as possible, cinema fountain soda tasted better. I used to tell our customers, though, to request it with "more syrup" if they wished for a proper drink. You can regulate it from the valve just beneath the counter.

This is an incredible way to save money if you're running a food place, too. Think of how many more drinks you can sell for the same box of syrup. Fucking JEWS.
