Why can't /ck/ cook? 95% of the time dishes are boring and lack presentation.

So /ck/ elite thread. Post the best dishes you've ever made, share recipes that make people squirm (in a good way), and rate each other's food.

Quality people, that's all I ask

>>5283649
don't give two shits about presentation.

>> No.5283656

because I don't feel like stripping EXIF out of my photos just to create another "what did you eat thread", least of which for people like you who come here to meta-shitpost about why you're better than people you can't see, allowing you to project your own insecurities onto them

I occasionally post my food in the frequent what did you eat today threads, but people like you make me less inclined to do so in the future

>> No.5283658

Presentation isn't part of cooking.

I made crock pot BBQ ribs today. They weren't exciting, nor did I present them in any special way. They were, however, delicious.

OP, I hope you either change your attitude or get hit by a bus.

/ck/ isn't a photography board.

that's your answer right there.

why do you think people know what swiss chard is, how to prepare it best, a few good dishes, and some unique ideas, and not just for swiss chard alone but for almost anything?

/ck/ doesn't care about you.

/ck/ cares about two things:
booze
food

/ck/ doesn't care if you lift
/ck/ doesn't care if you're fit
/ck/ doesn't care that you're poor
/ck/ doesn't care that you're in college
/ck/ doesn't care that you think /ck/ should do this-and-that

fuck you

I can cook very well, my presentation is usually mediocre at best, especially if I just prepared something like a fuckload of bbq because then it's just a bunch of meat on a platter, but I will often put at least a little effort into it. If I'm cooking for others I usually try to put a little more effort into presentation but I don't prioritize it. I am however not great at taking pictures of my own food.

I have always foraged with my parents so they have taught me what the mushrooms, berries et.c. are. I'm sure you can get some guide. I have also heard at least here of universities with a mycology department that organize trips to the forest to pick and identify mushrooms. You don't need to be a student to go there, either.
Seriously, though if you have blueberries in the forest - Go get them. Those store bought ones taste like horseshit.

Yep, I've noticed the same thing with raspberries. I think it's with all fruit basically. They don't care about taste as much as volume. They just breed the biggest plants and make them watery as hell.
I pity the people who have only had these farmed ones with the green insides. I tried them for the first time this year in Germany and they taste nothing like real blueberries. They taste more like grapes.

Where I live you don't really find blueberries like that but wild blackberries are fucking everywhere, they are so common and so hard to get rid of that most people consider them a nuisance. It's hard to get them NOT to grow all over the place. But real wild blackberries are absolutely amazing, nothing like the blackberries you buy or taste in storebought jam or whatever.
>Mfw the house I grew up in had a huge 10x20 foot, 8-foot-high blackberry patch, an apple tree, a plum tree, two cherry trees, and redcurrant bushes
Every spring you had to go out and hack new paths through the blackberry growth so you could actually pick anything other than the edges, but we made blackberry everything for a lot of the summer and usually had enough left to make like 30 jars of jam. I miss that house.
