I like pecans best in most baked goods, walnuts best in brownies, almonds best in solid chocolate, and either pistachios or honey roasted macadamia nuts best for snacking. Hard to directly compare them all when they're individually best in their respective uses.

Walnuts are not roasted. Pecans are not roasted. Hazelnuts/filberts are not roasted. In-shell, that is. I don't know where you live, either, but I can guarantee that if you've ever had any nut from a shell that wasn't a peanut, it wasn't likely to have been roasted.
Even almonds aren't roasted. American almonds are steamed to destroy salmonella because all American almond crops are contaminated with the stuff, but they're not roasted.
