So recent shitty breakup with my boyfriend. Pretty depressed and want to get my mind off all this shit..

So I am going to cook! I work in the industry and have 6 years of education/training. But right now I'm at a lose to what I should cook. Totally no inspiration which I think is because of the apathy.

You should beat out some chicken and make a piccata or something. Or make a dough and knead it to hell and back. Something to get you exercising- physical activity makes feel-good chemicals in your brain. Plus, it's a time consuming labor of love that will make tasty food later.

I always relish the opportunity to perfect cooking shanks, either lamb or osso buco. i think the flavor of the meat itself is just so groovy, but all of the existing recipes i've seen are just generic as fuck and the same tired ass flavors. Also if you're looking to get your mind off of shit why not make a game out of it? make a spinner with a bunch of different ethnic cuisines on it that you don't know how to cook well yet and whenever fancy strikes give it a spin. or use darts, whatever.
