The one closing is due to a myriad of factors, aging uncles, second generation kids all went off to college and no one is going to take over, business isn't as profitable as it used to be. That one location alone brought in about a million dollars a year.

Yeah, quite often too. Most times my mum brings back food when people cancel their order or they placed their order at the wrong location (we have two stores in two different cities and its surprising how often people place their orders at the wrong store even though when we answer the phone we'll say _____ on ___ street, how can we help you?)

It really depends on the restaurant, even full blown Chinese restaurant have secret menus but you have to ask and know what you're trying to get. Though in our family's restaurant if you're Chinese and ask for a specific dish we could possibly accomdate you, we also do authentic Shanghainese/Cantonese dishes though they have to be ordered beforehand.
