Whats the difference between diet coke and coke zero?

Coke zero doesnt melt my teeth, but it does taste substantially different from coke (and not in a good way).

What i dont get is why they cant make a coke that tastes exactly like coke but healthier...

Diet coke was introduced at the time of New Coke as a diet alternative. Thus it has kept the same logo and can design. It actually is the closest in flavor to New Coke you will ever find.
Coke Zero is a calorie free version of Coca Cola Classic

tl;dr
Coke zero = Coca cola classic
Diet Coke = New Coke

This. Sodas contain phosphoric acid (read the ingredients list). Phosphoric acid dissolves enamel. It's actually used for this specific purpose in the dentist's office to "etch" a tooth prior to bonding on a cap or braces.

>>5199500
Yeah but it's not in such high concentrations that it will cause damage if you have a soda from time to time.

If you're drinking that shit all day every day, then yeah, your teeth are going to rot out of your face, but a soda from time to time isn't going to ruin you.

There are plenty of colas out there. Pic is Mecca cola marketed at Muslims. There is a Brittany cola too, a ubuntu cola if you are into free software.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OpenCola_%28drink%29
Flavoring formula

The flavoring formula for OpenCola is:[2][3]

10.0 g food-grade gum arabic
3.50 mL orange oil
3.00 mL water
2.75 mL lime oil
1.25 mL cassia oil
1.00 mL lemon oil
1.00 mL nutmeg oil
0.25 mL coriander oil
0.25 mL neroli oil
0.25 mL lavender oil

Concentrate formula
Ingredients of OpenCola

2.36 kg plain granulated white table sugar
2.28 L water
30.0 mL caramel color
17.5 mL (3.50 tsp.) 75% phosphoric acid or citric acid
10.0 mL (2.00 tsp.) flavoring formula
2.50 mL (0.50 tsp.) caffeine (optional)[2][3]
Dilution

After mixing up the concentrate to the prescribed recipe (including all recommended safety precautions – see links), the syrup is diluted 5:1 with ("preferably sodium-free") soda water to make the finished drink; at this dilution, the above combination of ingredients will yield approximately 24 litres of OpenCola.

The full recipe also includes instructions for home-made soda water produced from basic ingredients such as yeast and sugar in order to make the entire process open source, otherwise there would be a need to use commercially-produced bottled or canned soda, or consumer carbonation machines (such as Soda Stream) with commercially manufactured carbon dioxide canisters.[2][3]

this. I buy two 2 liter bottles of coke 0 maybe every 10 days. not here to debate diet vs hfcs cane sugar. Nor obesity, diabetes, free will, what ever. Not even coke vs pepsi.Phosphoric acid is the ingredient that for me "sets your teeth on edge". and it does etch enamel. just like vinegar will dissolve egg shells or using mild muratic acid to clean mortar off fresh masonry. No need for anyone to get their panties in a wad. just rinse your mouth with water and brush your teeth.once in a while they are correct about some things. unlike some bones, tooth enamel(like brain cells) do/does not regenerate.

coke is full of sodium, which is balanced in taste by sugar. Consuming sodium causes you to crave water to balance out the sodium levels in your blood. drink something that is sickly sweet and less balanced and learn to love your diabetes and poor dental health.

Zero is the "cool" and "masculine" alternative to diet. Only chicks drank diet, but men started to care about weight but didn't want to drink out of the silver bottles, in fear of looking too feminine or seaming like they cared. So Zero was born, marketed 100% forward men, without being different from regular diet in any real way. Look at the marketing.
