We don't actually look like this, right? Right?

A gross, misinformed caricature? Probably not.

But you're probably a hipster and you don't even know it. Or, worse, you're an aspiring hipster who is in massive self-denial.

Yes. Yes you do. I fucking hate the people that order something from me, then proceed to give me a shitty history lesson. For the last fucking time, I don't give a fuck where your IPA is from or the fact that the company donates a portion of it's profits to help Rawandans. It tastes like fucking asparagus and it makes my stomach feel worse than it does after eating a big mac.

Most do and craft beer faggotry is a dying trend. I watched this the other day and thought how /ck/ sometimes slips into this depth of depravity. Only sometimes though. I don't think we are all hipster losers with fake glasses.

Oh god. I lived above a place where they turned the store underneath into a wannabe hipster bar. I had to move before they opened because I think I would have blocked the entrances and burned them all to the ground if I hadn't.

Yeah we shall see. IT was also 'cool' in the eighties and then people walked away from it because it is somewhat douchey to a degree..

But I just come in and order a good beer. I don't ever talk to the bartender unless they start a conversation.

>> No.5111329

I don't understand the hate of craft beer drinkers, if they're not really snobby and elitist about it. If you enjoy Imperial Stouts or Brown Belgian Ales over typically available dry light beers like PBR and Bud Light, how does that make you a hipster? It just means you have a discernible preference of one style over another.

>> No.5111330

>>5111316

It never stopped being cool. Rogue has been around for 25 years, Stone for 17. Hell, most of the craft brewers in my very uncool state (New Mexico) have been around for 20-30 years. Just because YOU became dimly aware of craft brewing during a very small sliver of its existence doesn't mean that you can somehow intuit its future trends.

>> No.5111333

I like all beer. Micro, macro, craft, whatever.

i think being a beer snob is pretty faggy unless you brew beer

I would say wine = liquor > beer.

Wine and liquor snobs usually have much better reasoning than beer snobs. I also find liquor snobs don't disenguinely shit on cheap liquor just because it's cheap.

I used the phrase cool really really loosely. It wasn't a thing to order an expensive craft beer at a bar ever in the 90s so yeah it became a thing that people looked down upon. Sorry to rain on your fedora.

Yeah, I'm sure you were of drinking age in the 90's and can report on this empirically.

"Craft beers" are now offered at bars because people are getting tired of their aluminum flavored, diluted piss water. I don't give a fuck if you think that it's just a reddit/euphoric atheist/fedora wearing thing, it's simply the trend of a redeveloping market.

Drinking only makes the autists I know even more awkward, because they forget that important instinct to shut the fuck up and end up making really, really awkward jokes or sexist/racist comments.

Nah, I just like the taste so I have one every so often. I am just not really into the bar scene in general. When I do end up getting dragged to a bar I drink gin.
