I really used to hate bananas, for no real reason either. but now I eat like 10 a day.

saltine crackers.

i prefer them entirely by themselves. no soup, no dip, no toppings. i don't want anything to get in the way of their crispiness and subtle flavor.

>> No.5106921

The only food I've hated my whole life is tomatoes. Just whole or cut tomatoes, any sauce is fine.

Grew to hate fish as I grew up, which is weird because I grew up eating it all the time. Fresh too.

>> No.5106929

Used to hate mushrooms. I can tolerate them now. For instance, sauteed shrooms on a burger or on top of a combination pizza will not get picked off. I usually don't buy them to cook with, but I'm no longer militantly opposed to them

You're not alone

>> No.5106956

None. I wasn't allowed to hate foods as a kid. The only thing I will always hate and refuse to eat is horseradish, a food so awful that Jews eat it to remind themselves of slavery/bondage. It's a punishment, not a food.
Opposite: there are foods I used to like that I don't care for now. I used to love my mother's octopus stew as a kid, but am now very picky and don't like her over-cooked, rubbery cephalopod.

>> No.5106970

I wasn't that picky as a kid but avoided onions and mustard like the plague.
They are now some of my favourite foods and make godly hot dog toppings.

I really feel sorry for someone who can't enjoy straight fried mushrooms.

Eggplant.
Crumb that shit with panko, coconut, chilli seeds, fennel seeds and fry in ghee.

I always hated brocolli and brussell sprouts, they made me gag.

Now I quite like them.

I never really hated hot dogs, sausages, brats... But now whenever I see one my mouth waters and I have instant cravings that are not satisfied until I have a log of meat in my mouth.

I love eggs almost all my life, then hated them at one point, then loved them right back again 2 years later.

>> No.5107455

I loved fish growing up, since my family is Peruvian. Now I am paranoid of fish, and will only at most eat a rare tuna salad sandwich. Sad, but necessary. I would substitute with ground flaxseed, but I can't eat yogurt, since it's best with flaxseed. Anyone got another simple recipe to apply ground flaxseed to?

Refused to eat cheese and mayonaise as a child. Parents also say eggs, but I can't belive. Shit's ridiculous/ Also used to eat fish, now dont.

I never liked fruits growing up, I would still eat them if it was on my plate but would never go off my way to eat one. Now I usually eat 3 or 4 a day.

pretzels and black licorice. and Saltines.

Mushrooms and tomatoes. Never liked cooked mushrooms because the only experience I had them was on shitty pizza, but once I had a steak with mushroom gravy I couldn't NOT like them.

egg yolk, and bread.

refused to eat egg yolk as a child, but now it's my favouritest thing ever. and bread, because I couldn't tolerate the smell of yeast or whatever the smell was. bread is cool.

Being in the hospital for a long period of time (8 weeks and counting) and having no other choice than to eat hospital food, I actually ended up trying a lot of foods I've never had before, or was too much of a picky fuck to ever try.

> Eggs. I've never really had eggs, but now I really like both hard-boiled and scrambled because they were the only real breakfast entree available.
> Bran Flakes. Just never picked them up out of the aisle overflowing with countless other cereals. Now they're my favourite cereal.
> Mushrooms and peppers. Avoided them due to disliking them as a kid, but since they are in so many pastas and mixed vegetable side dishes here, I've ended up being okay with them.
> Curry. Always had a severe aversion to spicy food, but like two nights ago I had a chick pea chana with rice.
Although I get that a Hospital-tier curry isn't going to be spicy anyway.
> Honey. Put some on a peanut butter sandwich. BAM.
> Goulash. Had just never come across it before.
> Vegetarian versions of other foods.
Veggie burger patties and a vegetarian Shepherd's pie. I've never eaten meat-substitutes before, since I've had no reason to (not a vegetarian or vegan myself) but both of them were surprisingly good.

I'm going out of my way more now to order foods that I'm unfamiliar with or used to avoid.

>never ate veggies up until early 20s

I can't fucking get enough of vegetables now, practically anything that isn't starchshit/brusselsprouts I would like to eat.

>> No.5109813

Asparagus, brussels sprouts, and polish sausage.

Fucking adore all three if cooked in certain ways now, but the way I had them during childhood all the time was abysmal.

>> No.5109821

Well you're not supposed to put polish on your sausage!

And how do you fuck up Polish sausage? You just eat it. Or boil it. Or whatever, but it's delicious regardless.

>> No.5109833

Eggs, baked beans, tuna, parmesan, lentils, olive/mushrooms (I like them on pizzas or baked into bread or on a sandwich with other things, but I can't stand them fried/in soups/salads still), pickles, mustard. I don't know, the usual shit that kids hate that adults like.

Brussels sprouts. My dad used to like them mushier than all get out and I grew up despising them. Then we had seared sprouts at a restaurant that were actually cooked properly and we both realized what a lie we'd been living. Now I cook them for myself all the time
