This is the most painfully sad part for me. Even if they do bring them back as a promotion or whatever it will never be the same. The old rice was so much tastier and I hate that I'll never have another cheesy bean and rice burrito in its original form. You guys don't know how much I loved this thing, I got my mom hooked on them too when I was living at home back then. We'd go to taco bell two or three times a week and each get one. Not even poor, it was just such a tasty burrito.

I still order one occasionally and do my best to enjoy it, but it just isn't the same.

If you ever do get a hankering to give it a try though, your local Taco Bell can make the new version even though it isn't on your menu. Just order a Beefy Cheesy burrito, sub out the beef for beans, and add rice.

I think I might try this, even with the new rice I'm sure its alot better than a plain bean burrito or whatever other burritos they have. Didn't it have some sort of special beige colored sauce though in addition to the regular nacho cheese? If you look at my original pic you can see it on the middle left.

Anyway something about that burrito was magical. The textures from rice and salsa, the flavors from the sauces, the inexplicably awesome rehydrated beans, and it was a half pound so I get full for $1. Best thing they've ever had and it was vegetarian, go figure.

I was never a big fan of KFC in the first place (literally every other chain I've ever eaten at has better chicken than KFC, up to and including Dairy Queen) but if I was going there with other people, I could usually get by with a couple of Snacker sandwiches and a small order of popcorn chicken. Both of those things are now gone. Since learning that, I've not returned to a KFC. I'll happily drive a few miles further and go to Popeye's.
