Allright /ck/, I'm fucking done with holiday food for the year. As the family cook, I've had two prepare every dish three different ways to accommodate three different levels of vegetarianism/veganism in my family. Today I just wanted a simple meal, so I went with Korean short ribs, white rice, and steamed broccoli, with a side of avocado....

And tonight I made Pork Chile Verde tacos with mexican style beans and rice...

Don't really care about your thread, OP, but what do people do with the leftovers they have before the holiday cooking begins? I mean. Say you cooked something Sunday night before Christmas this year (a Wednesday) and didn't finish Sunday's leftovers by the time Christmas cooking began: what happens to those leftovers? Huge feast cookery has always been something that's fascinated me because of this one aspect.
My family always made sure there were absolutely no leftovers by the time a feast day came.

I hate to bin leftovers. I can't remember the last time I threw food out that had gone off. I'll be throwing away some pâté tomorrow a colleague made for me. It's not good. She's not a very good cook and I loathe when she gifts me food because I invariably bin it. She thinks that because she's French, she's automatically a great cook, but she's just not. It's sad.
Anyway, yeah: hate binning stuff.

broccoli looks a tad overseasoned

I also had to cook for vegans this holiday season. It's not so bad. I like being forced to think outside the box occasionally

Sounds like poor planning on your part. I never make any meals with leftovers in the week leading up to Christmas.

can you post more of your meals? tbh they all look really good

Broccoli steamed for 45-60 seconds retains it's crunch and flavor and is the GOAT veggie with a few drips of soy sauce or some S&P.
