I prefer whiskey myself, but if I were to drink beer, I would drink this.

I've yet to get drunk on Stella Artois. I had a few this summer someone offered me (too expensive for my taste).

I like a few brands now, but my favorite type is red amber ale. There are a few brands. The easiest is probably Alexander Keith's, then Rickard's is a close second, Belle Geule is very good, so is Boréale.

Dude, a 12 pack of crispy stellas are like 14 bucks. Can you seriously not afford a buck and nothing per drink?

If I'm just having a few beers at home I'll go for a cheap lager, the likes of Carlsberg/Kronenbourg. My local pub (in the UK) is multiple times CAMRA pub of the year and it's got it's own brewery, the Fat Cat. I don't think they send beer anywhere else so unless you live in Norfolk you might not have been there.

I don't care much for bottled lager/ale, always a let down compared to getting it on tap

We don't live in 'murica, although sceak lives in Quebec so it's probably cheaper for him than it is for me.

Widmer Brothers Hefeweizen. Far from the best beer in the world, but it's my favorite. One of the few things I actually like about living near Portland is being able to find it everywhere.

Oh, true. They sell those in stores. I don't remember the exact price, but it's about $5.00 more expensive than the other brands. $20.00 vs. $14.00-ish.

Only reason it's on my bucket list is because my favorite singer is from Belgium. One day I just really want to get in the vibe.

Suggestions for a good beginner's beer? It kinda sucks going to parties and not being able to play slapcup or whatever stupid game but I can't choke it down unless I'm already smashed.

Just get a cheapo lager, about 4% ABV (do you have that in the US? does that mean 8 proof?), something with light in the title. I don't think you'll find anything easier to drink than that.

Don't waste time trying to drink nice beer at parties
