I've never seen the show, I'm not even american, but those shows all work the same: They give you something to laugh and talk about. The douchier the guy, the dumber the guests the more interesting to watch.

All those American food programs are so annoying to watch. Obnoxious close ups of food, poor camera focusing, constantly changing shots (seriously, I counted it in an episode of Man V Food once, they didn't stay on a single shot for longer than 1 second), loud as hell hosts, and really generic stock rock music to go with everything.
In short, yes you're a fucking pleb for liking it.
