I am capable of cooking rice on the stove, but the rice cooker just makes things easier. Its one less thing I have to check on.
Also easier to clean up because the rice doesn't stick to the cooker as much as it does to pots and pans.

If you're cooking in a wok it's all prep time until the heat goes on, then things happen pretty quickly. The wok demands your full attention, because 45 seconds can be the difference between perfectly cooked and burned to shit.

Putting the rice cooker on when you start your prep work means the moment food comes out of the wok you're ready to serve. No distractions while you're cooking.

As someone who does quite a bit of wok cooking the rice cooker is worthwhile for me -it serves a useful purpose. It's not about being too lazy to make rice, it's about avoiding distraction when the cooking is going down very quickly.
