Took some 2-day old brown rice and lentils.
Wok-fried up some orange bell pepper, onion, snow peas, garlic, ginger and portobello with some sage and thai basil along with a small amount of 5spice and teryaki sauce.
Removed the veg and rice to a bowl, cranked up the heat and put in some chicken and dark soy sauce.
Put the chicken in a bowl and lightly fried an egg til it was still mostly runny.
Topped with some uncooked basil/sage and some sriracha.

As someone who does similar sort of shit, grabbing everything I can find to make some sort of meal that's edible and not bland.

With that sauce, you need more rice. I don't know if it's from experience or not but you gotta get the rice and ingredients ratio correct or you're going to have a bad time.

Oat grain and blood sausages, a bit of yesterday's venison steak, fried mushroom and onions, pickled beet, carrot, gherkin and herring salad, and a boiled potato or two. A nice can or six of lager beer to chase. Will be a midnight dinner though, due to busy day.

What sauce. the teryaki? Dark soy? Sriracha?
Also, there was plenty of rice/lentils in the bowl, it's a fairly large bowl and the egg/chicken/lighting hides it.

Today, I:
- made turkey stock from some necks I bought, then pulled the meat from the bones and picked through it for osseous debris.
- baked four sesame buns today (short of milling my own grain, completely from scratch; simple recipe, really).
- made some buffalo sauce (used Tapatío instead of Frank's because I like it better, but otherwise the same, butter-mounted sauce).
- whipped some blue cheese crumbles with cream cheese.
- made turnip and carrot slaw with celery (shredded turnip, shredded carrot, sliced celery, lemon juice, salt, sugar and mayonnaise; the mayo was store-bought [QP brand]).

For dinner later, I will split a roll, smear on the blue cheese spread on both sides, top the bottom bun-half with slaw, reheat the shredded turkey meat in the microwave, dress it with buffalo sauce and put that on top of the slaw then place the top bun.
And have a lovely salad alongside, too.

Well thanks!
The turkey necks were on offer at 50¢/lb and my smoker is frozen over so I wouldn't have been able to smoke a proper pulled pork even if I wanted.
Really, after use 2kg of necks for stock (3 packs of about 1½lbs each), I'm left with about a 1½lbs/700g of usable meat. This is as good a way as any to use some of the meat up, yeah?
I'm going to have some as turkey noodle soup tomorrow and bake the rest (about a pound should remain) as a pie on Friday.

OP that would look delicious if I hadn't just eaten.

Just got back from a local brewery and made some sauteed mirepoix and threw it in my "bolognese" sauce that I made by adding powdered garlic, olive oil, and ground beef to some simmering Progresso canned tomato basil soup. Scooped onto some fettucini and went to town. Delicious if a little sweet but that's how the soup is. Old dead Italians are probably rolling around in their graves so hahaha!

yeah, but he was on his way to 'lizebeth. ( grabs heart and hollers hold on 'lizbeth I'm coming.) But I know of a local cardioligist that was vegan, super slim, ran, and died of a massive heart attack at 56. For what it's worth, I am some overweight, but not fat. I could stand to lose 25 lbs. but I don't eat meat every meal, and certainly not bacon. Don't even like it on burgers. occasionally a blt or with eggs. I don't like shows like man vs food, burgers made with doughnuts. Blanket statements like hur dur 1/3 being meat, cheese, ice cream, cake etc works against the vegan cause and indicates you are a. very juvenile and going through a "stage" or b.. the kind of obnoxious self righteous a hole that gives many vegans and vegetarians a bad name. Either way, the kind of person I would do almost anything to avoid. Have a nice day.

I think you're thinking of Michael Clarke Duncan, who was a meat-eater most of his life and his heart problems came more from his large size. He became vegan just before his death as a way to slow down his declining health, which did help, but you can't just switch your diet at the last second and expect a miracle to happen. This happened with Steve Jobs and cancer as well.

Many people switch to veganism to improve their health, but unfortunately they do it after it's too late for it to make a big difference. Bill Clinton also had major heart surgery, which led him to follow a vegan diet. When people cite these examples as veganism causing these diseases and not the years of meat eating, it's like saying "Bob stopped smoking after 30 years but he STILL got lung cancer! Not smoking cigarettes isn't any better for you!"
