How does /ck/ feel about Jarlsberg cheese?

>> No.4985693

Eating soft cheeses is probably the worst thing you could do to your pallet, plastic ruins the taste of cheeses as well.

Yeah, I'll listen to your clearly educated advice.

Is it a swedish cheese? How do you feel about Jarlsberg cheese?

Norwegian.

Its ok. Really characteristic taste.

>> No.4985808

It's pretty average, don't think it has much of a flavour. I only like to eat the hard edge near the wax coating.

Enjoy your cheeses that taste like someone soaked grannies fungal feet in milk before leaving it out to rot in the outhouse.

Are you sure you know what you're talking about?

>> No.4986207

I enjoy it. It's a decent, mild cheese for when you don't want anything too potent.

do different sized holes in the cheese indicate the flavor it will have?

Each size of hole tastes different.

dont be a smart ass! im asking a ligitimate question. im working on a way to use ultra sound technology to locate and inject a nice suace/filling into cheese holes and then baking the entire block before serving. some types of swiss only taste good with sweet. like sweet mustard or sweet dill pickle

One of my favorite cheeses.

>> No.4987051

Jarlsberg is good shit, I'm definitely a fan. In general I like semi-soft/semi-hard cheeses with a bit of a bite but nothing too overpowering. Sharp cheddars, gouda (especially smoked), jarlsberg are all at the top of my list.

>> No.4987055

It's tastes better if you boil it.

Why do you think it's bad for your pallet?

>> No.4987084

I just had brie for the first time just now, this shit is somewhere between tasteless and slightly foul. Why does this junk get hype?

And what the fuck can I do with this other than throw it away?

>> No.4987088

Brie is for kids.

>> No.4987196

you got low quality brie or brie that was aged too long for your tastes, or not moist/ high enough cream content.

eat it on crackers with capers or olives next time, and white wine

First time I finally tried brie after listening to all of my wannabe hipster faggoty friends all say how much they adored brie (Its not an exotic cheese, we know) and how it was totally their favorite cheese, I was really let down at how flavorless it was.
That said, after trying it several times since it has grown on me, its more about the creamy texture than the flavor, I like mine on fresh bread.
