I'm going to the bar with some old friends tonight. The thing is, I have a major sweet tooth and can't stand the taste of alcohol. Now, I can drink almost anything, but the only thing I've ever had that doesn't make me grimace is rum & Coke and Bud fucking Light. Are there any drinks that aren't super bitter that don't fall into the feminine category?
Pic related, my face the first time I had Scotch

what drinks have you had that you couldn't stand?

>> No.4892241

Mint julep, mojito, scotch and soda and lime

Drink light pale lagers, or stouts. They aren't bitter, generally. Avoid ales.
There's nothing wrong with rum and coke, no one is going to think less of you for liking it.

Jack & Coke, Long Island iced tea, Bloody Mary, gin & tonic

is that "scotch and soda and lime" all at once?

I know there's nothing wrong with it, but I'd also like to know if there's anything else. Thanks for the tip.

How are orange tundras and hard lemonade? (the ballpark where I live sells them)

Hard lemonade is usually barely alcoholic at all, it's not very "manly" but it tastes fine to me.
Alcohol is something that you get used to with experience.

Drink anything with a soft drink and ice

Whiskey and ginger ale (pre mixed cc and dry if u want) is pretty delicious, although I think it has a stigma

The reason it's not manly is not alcohol content though, it's because it's seen as something that only underage teenagers drink.

Okay, no more aged crap. You obviously aren't a scotch fan, smoke, peat, oak, this is a cultivated palate.
Nor lime? C'mon, if a mojito is offensive? Sugar, nearly flavorless white rum, mint and lime? Get away from citrus, then.

what are you talking about

So you've mostly had mixed hard alcohol drinks, but you were ok with bud light. So I'd say go for a beer, beer is of course lower in alcohol so it typically doesn't have a strong alcoholic taste if it's only 5% or so.

If you don't like bitterness at all, I'd say look for a wheat beer like a hefeweizen or a 'white' ale, they are usually very lightly hopped. Blue Moon is the most easily found, but there's a lot better out there. Otherwise a stout like >>4892259 said could be good (BTW stouts are ales). Porters are also usually sweeter with low bitterness.

Gin and tonic.

You look classy and it's sweet as a puckered vagina.
