Is /ck/ the nicest board on 4chan?

>> No.4885223

Aside from the vegetarians and anti-Monsanto faggots pushing thier agenda everywhere, yes.
/ck/ is a pretty decent place.

>> No.4885226

Maybe, but that still doesn't make it a nice place. "Stop liking what I don't like" is still very prevalent here, as is elitism.

Even as soon as a year ago, yes.

Shitposting faggots have since took it over, as is the demise of every board.

It can be at times. /diy/ and /out/ are pretty chipper too.

Incidentally I have noticed that prior to a year ago /ck/ was male dominated despite other boards assuming /ck/ was grills. In the past year or so I have noticed cross boarders on other boards claiming to be both /ck/ and grills.

>> No.4885248

I don't remember it that way.

Yeah I was going to post in that thread with a Matfer spatula and 12" Rosle tongs.

Well you remembered wrong. Sorry.

>> No.4885265

no it is not the nicest.

its better then most, but a few other boards shame us on the nice factor.

elitism, and "wut cuntry r u from cus dat cuntry sux," is prevalent here.

mostly i think /ck/ has a hard time recognizing trolls, therefore shitty threads get bumped to the max.

eh, /ck/ is pretty great when looking at it with 4chan sunglasses

>> No.4885267

>>4885260
No, I'm pretty sure there were lots of grills on /ck/ for the past several years. Some were pretty famous.

>> No.4885268

It's not so bad if you no opinion on anything whatsoever because if you do and you say you do, someone is going to call a faggot.

But I jest,
/ck/ is a slow board compared to the other ones, I guess there's more people who more thought into what they post or they tend to be mature enough to understand that sometimes, it's not necessary to post in a thread if you have nothing to add.

>> No.4885271

>>4885267
Last two years at most. At most.

>> No.4885272

>>4885271
I can remember them as far back as 2008 at least.

>> No.4885273

No.

Every board here is fundamentally the same. You still circlejerk over certain things, and still call people that do certain things plebs. It's just a constant game of fitting in and every board does it. /ck/ is like the worst parts of Tumblr and 4chan put together. Most people here don't/can't cook but they'll still be shaped into some fag with 0 skill who deems others plebs because he fits in with others like him

Not lots of them. And certainly not lots of them crossboarding looking for potential 4chan mates by using /ck/ as a desirable attribute.

Yes, even that. At least from the ones I've talked to IRL. I think you have a selective memory.

I don't think that's normal.

Not even close. /po/ is by far the nicest board. It's even nicer than a lot of regular forums.

>> No.4885310

I disagree. 25% of the posts are some guy getting mad and responding to himself angrily before giving up because he hasn't gotten a reply in 2 days from the regulars.

This.

Now theres just that one tripfag here. You know the one. I dare not summon him.

I cross over to /out/, /po/ and /wg/ alot. With /ck/ theyre the best most mature boards.

>> No.4885814

>>4885265
>"wut cuntry r u from cus dat cuntry sux," is prevalent here.

Because America posts fast food, burger and pizza threads all the fucking time.

>> No.4885964

Go to /out/, /diy/ or /an/.
Nice, capable anons. /ck/ is pretty capable, but brusque as fuck. Must come from cooking.

>> No.4886312

>>4885460
>With /ck/ theyre the best most mature boards.

/diy/ is the most mature.

>> No.4887439

/ck/, /diy/ and /trv/ I think are the nicest/ more mature boards on 4chan. /trv/ has declined a lot recently but it is still a good board, aside from the /int/ shitposter flood.

aside from the expected NSFW boards. /mu/ definitely is the worst boards since everybody is a ultra hipster and someone will shit on your post with pretentious shit.

>> No.4887449

As someone who's been here since 07 (I know that many of us have been here longer) the coolest boards for me have been /ck/, /trv/, and, most recently /vr/.

Each one has been helpful, insightful, or at least more well composed in their own way.

>> No.4887462

Idk, it's the only board I've been to in the last 7 years.

>> No.4887469

Things I noticed, that set this board of like a baseball bat to a bee hive:

Steak, how much to cook it.
Knives, what to buy.
Coffee, how to make it.
Ketchup, I find this one really funny.
Fast food.
Poor/Student/How do I, asking advice to make ramen better.
Chili, beans or not.
Japanese food, pictures of it.
Pans, what to cook in.
Cast iron, how to care for it.
Burgers, what to put on them/ how to make them.
Liquor, what do drink.
Vegans.
Vegetarians.
Meat Eaters.
GMO.
Organic.
Carbs.
No carbs.
Etc..

And many more I can't think of at the moment. Mention any of these and you will get 'told' how you are doing it wrong. Then two dozen people with differing opinions will start to argue and derail the thread.

I'm gonna go drink my instant coffee, then have a well done steak with ketchup, follow it up with bean chili, and a white bread sandwich with pasta and french fries in it, battered and deep fried.

That aside, it's actually a really fun board. Some really good ideas in here. Also occasional hilarious threads. Like 'Sogwich'. I miss seeing that one posted.

>> No.4887471

Not calling anybody out, but I assume not many of you guys go to /d/.

Its simply that /d/ does not judge anyone (imagine that)

also, /co/ is our derpy husband because he has more fun than us, and its cute.

Also, /ck/'s racism has subsided quite a bit.

>> No.4887473

>>4887439
>/mu/ definitely is the worst boards
I remember back when /q/ existed there was once a thread about the worst boards on 4chan. /v/, /b/, and /pol/ were the ones most brought up. Although, I do agree about the hipster nature of /mu/.

>> No.4887516

>>4887471

lol

>> No.4887543

It's the nicest one I regularly visit for sure. I've heard good things about the papercraft board, though.

>> No.4887549

>>4887471
I've been lurking /d/ since 2006. It's not a nice board. Not terrible, but not nice either.

>> No.4887557

>>4887473
Like I said though, the expected boards like /b/,/pol/ and /s4s/ I did not mention since they are known as pure shit. The other boards need a good look into to realise its shitty like /int/. On the surface it looks like the UN online but its really just a stormfront /pol/-lite board.

I remember making a thread on /mu/ a while back asking about their opinion on a particular artist. It deluded down to "my glasses have thicker rims than yours" match.

>> No.4887564

Been here since 05 (late04). And my most favorite boards were /ck/, /trv/, /vr/ and /diy/. Also, early /fit/ before it turned purely squats and oats and circlejerking,

Although I'm always in /jp/ because that's my home board.

>> No.4888021

/diy/ is nicer but /ck/ is pretty civil unless I post pictures of my dinner

then they all rage at my burnt grilled cheese covered in chili
