Sup /ck/.

I have in my fridge:

Milk
Eggs
Onions
3 strips of high quality bacon

What should I make for dinner? I had scrambled eggs this morning, and as great as they were i don't wanna eat them twice in a day.

I also have in my cupboards:

Extra virgin olive oil
Hot paprika
Spaghetti
Linguini
Jars of premade pasta sauce

I also don't just want plain pasta.

Any recommendations?

Doesn't carbonara require cream and cheese?

Also peas. You can't make carbonara without peas.

>use exclusively for steak because I can afford one of each type of pan

So you buy a "lodge garbage" pan simply because you can afford to?

Make a pasta frittatta with bacon, onions and paprika.

cook pasta. in a large bowl, whisk 4 eggs with paprika, splash of milk, and cooked bacon/onion, add the pasta, toss to combine. slide it into a well oiled skillet and cook through (on the stovetop flipped once, in the oven, combination stovetop/broiler, whatever.)

top with your pasta sauce if you want.

google recipes if you need more info. if you have food you're not listing know that you can throw just about anything in a frittatta, cheese is popular.

oh, 4 eggs is for 1/2lb of pasta. 7-8 eggs for a whole pound.
and it doesn't really need the milk, but if you like milk in your scrambled eggs you'll like it in this.

Pasta fritatta would be pretty good, but might be a bit plain with only onions for vegetables

Thanks a lot, you've made my night!

So i take it the eggs bind okay with the pasta then, by the way?

I have a griddle pan and that's it, I live cheap as i'm a student.

Why

if it's a big batch then you need a pan with sides. it's very runny before the egg cooks.
if you only have a griddle, just take portions of the pasta/egg mix and cook it in smaller patties. (google "okonomiyaki", do it kinda like that.) maybe resude your egg by one, I dunno.

you don't even have, like, an oven safe dish or something?

I have a baking tray and small griddle pan, it's what I took from home. I live off £40 a week, and i spend £30 on groceries and the rest on amenities.

I buy good ingredients out of choice, because cheap meat and cheap fruit/vegetables usually taste like ass.

If i'm gonna spend my money on something, i'd rather it be healthy and/or delicious food than endless amounts of alcohol and shit.

I use what remains on the few drinks i get on a weekend.

The fuck is the point of "good ingredients" if you don't even have pans

Because the grill pan cooks eggs and bacon just great, and is multipurpose. It does pretty much most things.

If i save for a good skillet and pots etc, i'll be out of good ingredients for like 4 weeks.

Erm, no. You can fry in it, sure. But that's really about it. There are many more cooking methods than doing a simple pan fry:

Boiling or poaching? No.
Simmering or braising? No.
Steaming? No.
Roasting? No.

FFS go get yourself a saucepan or two and a large pot. If your area is anything like mine you probably have many friends or family with extra cookware lying around, or go to a thrift store or garage sale and get what you need on the cheap. You can always upgrade later.

ite, I will.

It's mostly just because i'm a lazy person when it comes to anything beyond exercise and work.

I never get minor shit done, only important stuff.
Like right now my bed still doesn't have a sheet, etc.

I have a saucepan for pasta, and a baking tray for oven roasting.

I concede that I wish I did have a frying pan or skillet though.
