Spicy food is good as long as you don't go overboard. A bit of kick...not enough to overpower the flavor of the dish itself, and only on appropriate foods.
Not a weaboo but most cultures/countries have a few foods that are amazing. Japan has sushi, curry (coco ichiban is best), and good variations of noodles (inb4 ramen...try zaru soba or udon). On the flip side...they also have shit tier like natto, gross cracker/biscuit garbage, and that stupid spaghetti on a bun abomination

I know a ton of people that brag about how much they like spicy foods, but they put so much on that you can't even taste anything and make it more of a dick waving contest about who can eat the most than anything. It destroys the entire point of the meal when people do stuff like that.

Alcohol is fine, but I'm thoroughly convinced that people only drink beer to fit in. Especially since most people who drink it will admit that it tastes like shit, or that you have to "acquire the taste", or that it doesn't matter when you're drunk anyways, all of which are stupid reasons.

Japanese foods are pretty good though. Nothing special, but nice and simple and easy to make. Weeaboo stuff like pocky is shit though.

I know a guy who puts a shitload of chili powder on literally everything. He uses it tablespoon-wise. I made soba, he mixed the soba tsuyu with 2 tablespoons of chili. I made beef bowl, he does the same. I made hummus, same thing. Italian pasta ? He drowns it in red nastyness. Plum-sauce chicken ? Chili. Cold tofu ? Chili. Fishballs ? Chili. No exceptions. I wonder whether it's healthy in these amounts. And whether he's right that it enhances the flavour.
