I'm off the seemingly rare minority that absolutely loves candy corn, although I enjoy a great deal of "old-timey" candies. (Necco wafers, Mary Janes, Chik-O-Stiks, ribbon candy, Blackjack gum, etc.)

That being said, mellowcreme pumpkins are vastly superior. Especially the chocolate ones.

The instructable where that photo came from used cookie dough instead of a banana. They also mention that some people were afraid of raw eggs in the cookies dough (just make it without the eggs, hurr) and recommended something as nasty as marzipan.
