fry onion and brown the meat, put it all in the slow cooker with some stock and cook for 8 ish hours

Crockpot is basically chuck everything in, add seasoning, then leave for ages.

so some veg won't do too well, like maybe broccoli and courgette

Budget isn't an issue.
It doesn't have to be 24hr, but I'd like to make it tomorrow night and have dinner by monday night, since I have school and that works well
