I just tried Palak paneer for the first time, one of those Amy's premium frozen box dinners. Not only was that the best frozen thing I've ever had, but it's almost made me want to try vegetarianism.

Palak Paneer is pretty good with rice. It's my favorite indian dish next to Chicken Tika Masala.

I like spinach and I like Indian food but I've never had palak paneer.
The paneer looks troublesome to make.

There are fancy restaurants that serve all kinds of cuisine, yet you rarely hear of Indian restaurants that cost more than $20/head. Enjoy your pleb diarrhea.

I was lucky enough to work for an Indian family. in the motel industry. they were not strict vegans ( some chicken and ghee) and many vegtables and rice. jasmine rice. and Hindi in a place of many very um let's say conservitive christians and the theydid not spend or pay excessively ( fit right in, most of us are scotts/ irish, cherokee, eastern euro, - any of the trash no one else wants except on vacation. listening up Aussies?) it is ok. when I travel I try not to be a total a-hole. but I am used to it. the wages tend to be low, but the people are nice just dont assume they are dum/ stupid. what were you saying? oh yeah. taphing about sand niggers or indians. I reaally dont care for that term. or packos. some can be bad. but just like many people, most are good. and the food is the same. some good, some great. and some you reeally don't want kind of like life. .

Amy's frozen is a cut above most other frozen meals. Still pretty mediocre stuff, but definitely better quality than, say, Swanson.

Indian food, on the other hand, is fucking awesome. All of it. Universally. I've never had Indian food from a restaurant or cooked by a friend that I didn't really enjoy. Palak Paneer is very tasty stuff and is a staple at just about every indian food buffet in the world.

And there are so many different ways you can prepare it too. The Amy's stuff is decent for frozen, they do organic red kidney beans + long-grain rice with it.

Why? Do people actually not realize you're still allowed to eat vegetarian food without becoming one? Just eat what tastes good, jeez.

That's because you're eating something from a place where they have a tradition of vegetarian cooking, so they know how to do it. When I g out for vegetarian it's often to Indian, Thai or Chinese joints - any cuisine from a country with a sizable Buddhist population is likely to have good vegetarian dishes.

>> No.4786416

Palak Paneer is delicious OP. You should really learn to make it yourself, it's actually very easy. Any Indian spinach dish is going to be glorious. You can even make the Paneer yourself, it's incredibly simple. I make Paneer to use in Indian cooking all the time. Panner Makhani (aka Butter Paneer) is really good too.

I would never give up meat, I simply meant that I really want to add more vegetarian-focused dishes in my daily diet. I tried various ones at a birthday party (It was a vegetarian household) and most of the food was disgusting.

Understand. I eat vegan most of the week, then enjoy a meat meal or two on the weekend. Works for me.

Maybe "Indian" like the places that sell your standard tikka, korma etc. but South Indian? sure.
