I disagree, it's a very good sauce, but I think Kutbil-ik is the best sauce ever.

The fuck is that? El Yucateco is a staple in my cabinet, easily a top five sauce. XXXtra hot is best. I've never seen that one you posted.

firstly, these sauces (the ones I've tried) have been pretty underwhelming thus far. They all seem to have this very prominent vinegar taste. I'm familiar with Louisiana style hot sauces but these were not to my taste.

It's the best of the best, friend.

http://www.elyucateco.com/english/products/sauces/kubil-ik.html

The only place I can find it is online (overpriced) or at a local Mexican place which has Kutbil, and then Red and Green Habanero.

I can only find Red and Green Habanero in my stores. In that case, I go for Green as it's spicier than Red.

There's a gift pack on Amazon, iirc, that has Kutbil-Ik, Red, Green, and Habanero, and it comes in a nice box, but again, it's pretty overpriced. Maybe a coll novelty gift for someone who loves hot sauce

I reached that same conclusion with the handful of mainstream sauces that I tried. Get a bottle of Dave's Gourmet. It's terrifically spicy without the vinegar taste.

Agreed.

What's your personal rankings?

Me:
Kutbil-Ik > Green Habanero > Caribbean (for that nice zest) > Red Habanero (tomato-ey) > Jalapeno > Chipotle

Not even in terms of heat, just flavor.

Regardless, I love El Yucateco. I will support them until my dying day. They fucking deserve it.

3/3 friend brought this back from Mexico for me. haven't seen it up in Canada where I'm at.

it's my favorite by far from that company. Super smokey, spicy and a very coarse paste like texture.

I've never seen any of those. I've only seen the OG that OP posted. Though, I love LA hot sauce, just not my mainstay. Would like to check out some of those.

*goes to Amazon*

The Red Chili one espeically. Though I can probably guess how the Garlic one tastes, as I've had a offbrand LA Hot Sauce Garlic flavor. Was good stuff. Not great, but worthwhile.

I like this one simply for the flavor. It isn't "spicy" per se (not to any of us who have such tolerance), but the flavor far surpasses the rest of the Tabasco line, imho.

I like it on White Rice. My local Korean place has either a Squid or Octopus Bulgolgi Box, which is Squid/Octopus, Kimchi, and White Rice (you can get the Lunch Box, which is less Squid/Octopus, less Kimchi, but has edamame, sweet and sour chicken, fried rice and shrimp tempura, but it's not worth it, the box is tiny)

The purity of the Squid and the White rice, and the HUGE ass bowl they serve it in, and some Green Tabasco, so great.

Sorry for terrible pic. Next time I purchase some, I'll take one. But this is in the "Dollar Section" at my grocery store.

I imagine it tastes exactly like the brand name "Louisiana Hot Garlic Sauce". Considering when I bought the plain "Louisianan Supreme" I noticed no major discernible differences.

Try loads of hot sauces but always end up coming back to this one sooner or later
