Wasn't sure which forum this should go in, so, fuck it. It's going in here.

>99% sure I can, but the south can be weird about alcohol regulations and laws

No, liquor is illegal in Georgia. This dates back to Sherman's March to the Sea, the local clergy wanted to save the alcohol for surgical purposes, so alcohol had to be adulterated with bittering agents to make it unpalatable.

Be careful what's in your luggage, a British man was incarcerated for life after Georgian customs agents found traces of liquor stuck to the bottom of his shoe.

Back when Democrats were the slave owners and Republicans were the slave liberators, yeah.

It's not the 1860s anymore though. Remember that whole "southern strategy" business? You're the party of racism and regressive bigotry, remember that.

op here

I used to live in a town in in Alabama in which a decent population lived off Budweiser and Keystone, but just recently (in the last couple of years) went wet. And a whole bunch of people had a fucking hissyfit about allowing alcohol in their town. I guess the hypocrisy, plus just turning 21 a few months ago have left me kinda clueless about when and where I can buy alcohol

Both parties are full, of racism and bigotry
but federal democrats have been terrible for this country's liquor policies into the modern era

Aww yeah Anniston buddy. I live in Atlanta but spend most of my weekends in Birmingham, so I know the area well.

There are a couple differences between GA and AL liquor laws, the ones you'll notice are A) you can buy 40's in GA so make sure to buy a case of them before crossing back into AL and B) Sunday sales are a bit more strict in GA. Technically this year every county will start selling alcohol on Sunday, but it's a county-by-county deal and GA has the second most counties in the country (after Texas, duh) so you never really know what you'll run into when traveling.

Well, store owners can choose not to stock alcohol I guess, but if you're of age I don't see any reason why you shouldn't be able to buy alcohol.

The southern conservatives didn't want affirmative action. They weren't going to get white supremacy. Nixon offered equality before the law. It was the best they were going to get, so they took it.
