Ever heard of these before? I hadn't. Apparently it's a buttered bun, a patty, chili, cheese, and.. chips.

I dunno. What do you think?

if you just wanted a crunch why not bacon?

>ground beef on top of a ground beef patty

mind. blown.

Makes sense up until the tortilla chips.
Fucking why?

And where is this called a "Texas chiliburger"?
just askin', because I grew up in TX, and while I've had my share of chili burgers, they never had chips on them. Usually, the standard was patty, cheese, chili, chopped onions, and in most cases, pickles too. Mustard would be on the buns, too. The buns would be a standard fluffy bun, toasted.

Do you not understand what regional cuisine is?
Faggot retard FAGGOT FAGGOT FAGGOT.

I'd only like it if the corn chips are soggy from the chili.

Because it adds something crispy. Crispy is good.

Yeah, makes sense, I like crunchy things in various dishes. I wouldn't think they'd stay crunchy for long though...if it were me, I'd put some lettuce between the chips and sauces.

You're an idiot. Okay, I'm going to make a sandwich with steak, cheese, salsa and avocado on it and call it a Philly cheesesteak. Get fucked.

I feel like the chips would scratch the inside of my mouth.

Texan here, I've done this before but I use Fritos. It's patty, no bean chili, shredded cheddar cheese, a little mustard, some chopped red onion, and Fritos. Didn't know it was an actual thing though, I just call it a Frito pie burger.

Serious Eats doesn't lie?

>> No.4749107

I think the "Texas" part of the name is to differentiate it from the green chile burger, which is more of a New Mexico thing.

What exactly makes it Texas? Do you get a free gun with one?

>> No.4749170

Or a free execution?

>> No.4749468

yeah they sell them at DQ with fritos.

I prefer all that on a hot dog instead of burger. Or just a frito pie instead if I'm eating junk.

I don't actually like chips on a sandwich. Especially not hard ones. I can appreciate the added texture but I've been shanked in the gums too many times.

Chips do not belong on sandwiches or pizzas, or inside a burrito, and I really wish people would knock it off.

You get FREEDOM with each order.

I like to put tortilla or potato chips on my sandwiches sometimes, when I want some crunch inbetween all the sogginess of the cheese and condiments. I know that probably makes me a pleb, but I couldn't care less. It's delicious.

Exactly this.
