>make coffee in the morning
>let cool a bit
>put coffee ice cubes in glass (or in blender if you want it blended)

>> No.4747189

Brew a pot of coffee, let it cool, take a tall glass, add it with vanilla ice cream (4 scoops), fill it up with the coffee and put whipped cream on top.

>> No.4747196

Use a french press. Make a cold brew the day before by steeping grounds in cool water, let them sit in the fridge before fully pressing the next day.
Have sweetened condensed milk and/or half-and-half mixed at the bottom of a tall glass. It may be necessary to microwave the condensed milk a bit just to liquefy it. Add a little cold brew and stir to incorporate cream, add ice cubes and top glass with more cold brew.

You could drink frappé, which is usually served without milk.

>> No.4747217

Cold brew that shit. Grind it on 1/French Press/Whatever the Coarsest grind you can get. Take a clean new sock and put your coffee in that sock. Tie off the end place in your container. Pour over the cold water, let it set for a few hours/overnight depending on desired strength. stick in the refrigerator and enjoy.
Empty out the sock and wash it and set it aside as your cold brew sock.
Cold brewing helps with the bitterness and stale tasted associated with chilling hot brewed coffee.

I would guess it's precisely zero. Usually when they're talking about a coffee sock, they're talking about one of picture related. They're thai coffee filters. You can pick them up in any asian market for about 2 bucks.

No I mean a sock like the kind you put on your foot it's a perfect and a cheap filter, usually more durable than a coffee sock, much cheaper than a coffee sock and readily available anywhere.
It's a perfectly serviceable price corner to cut. How can you all have never seen this before? When I first ran into I found it to be weird as fuck but when I worked servicing and repairing espresso machines on location 6 or 7 times out of ten this is exactly what they used.

>> No.4747276

The absolute BEST iced coffee is Vietnamese iced coffee. They brew a really strong cup of coffee then pour it onto a cup full of ice cubes and some condensed milk.

>> No.4747288

If you want something fast and delicious you can get some pre-ground coffee (Heresy, yes I know, but it's fast), make some coffee with that, let it cool, and mix it with ice and sweetened condensed milk (or sugar and milk if you don't have it), and add some cinnamom, you can also try honey instead, and put it in a blender if you feel like it.

If you are REALLY in a rush, you could just try a Frappé (instant coffee), add sweetened condensed milk, cinnamon, blender that and drink it on your way to work/school.

>> No.4747304

Iced coffee should be cold brewed. Hot brewing produces to much acidity and acridity for a cool refreshing drink.

You get a nice concentrated strong coffee with a substantial and smooth mouthfeel.

The second best option is espresso and cold milk.

But cold drip coffee is just shit.

I've done it like this with success:

>grind coffee coarsely
>place in french press
>add filtered water
>stir
>place in fridge with plunger on top of press, but not plunged through the coffee
>leave overnight, stirring every time I think about it when I open the fridge
>next morning plunge, pour, drink

Tastes good even black, but I usually drink it black anyways. IF you like milk and sugar in it it will probably taste good that way too.

There's cold-brew methods, and there's hot-brew methods.
The former is basically letting water and coffee grounds sit for a few hours, then strain and pour over ice, adding cream and syrup if desired.
The latter is cooking a 2x strength batch of coffee and pouring it over an equal volume of ice cubes.
I generally hear the former is best.

The best iced coffee is ONLY

>espresso
>ice
>milk

You can add a touch of sugar if you like.

If you don't have an espresso machine get yourself a moka pot.
