Ah....yeah, I don't use my trip anymore unless I'm making a recipe thread. Which, I need to do again soon. I should have done it today, because I'm making lengua tacos for dinner tonight, but I've already got the tongue simmering, and I didn't take pics of the ingredients for the broth, so I guess I'll skip it.

To some degree, think we were even but she had a somewhat Alton Brown level knowledge of how things worked, especially regarding baking, having studied nutrition or somesuch for a while. They apparently did a lot of cooking during that time, so she had plenty of experience.

That was a nice girlfriend indeed, only one that made me proper breakfast.

My wife's a pretty damn good cook. It's getting to the point where friends are happily dropping by for dinner and suddenly our gaming group is wanting to game at our house because she cooks dinner for the whole bunch on game night.

Not in our generation, cooking is a tool of the patriarchy and being completely dependent on others for food is an integral part of being a strong independent womyn

only the oppressed females of the homophobic and backwards generations currently dying out know how to cook, I love my mom's cooking but she is so oppressed by the patriarchy for it, I can see the suffering in her eyes every time she makes us mac and cheese

It depends a lot on the women in the family of this generation.
My mom and grandmother cooked because they had to and didnt grow up liking it, but my sister and I started on our own before "having to" and we enjoy it now that we "have to."

Just raise your kids with healthy concepts of food and show them it's something fun, and something you can give back to your family.(Which should be the most important thing.)

>> No.4736283

Many, but none of them have been more than 3rd gen American.

I think I cook pretty well for a homecook, I make all the food for my fiance and friends. Since I don't work full time, I took up making everything immaculate and pursing my passion of cooking to help out the best I can. That said, I know some older guys who can cook amazingly better than me.
