Watched The Food Network for the first time yesterday.

>Diners, Drive-ins and Dives is great, as is Guy's Big Bite.
>Bitchin' Kitchen is horrible.

Am I right? Is Guy a bro?

>is any of it good?

>> No.4678899

Two or three of my home town places are featured, never seen the episodes but the food is good.

I hated him before I ever saw the show, just for his appearance. He looks like the worlds biggest douchebag.

I actually don't mind him after seeing the show, I thought that if anything it would make me hate him even more, and he's certainly eccentric, but his persona doesn't really bother me. I like Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, it's great for tormenting myself when I'm too lazy or uninspired to make food.

I use to hate Guy Fieri. I dislike Guy's Big Bites. Honestly the bling scares me. Jewelry plus cooking food = no no.
But I love Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives! Really showcases the true home cooks of America! :)

ALSO

BITCHIN' KITCHEN NEEDS TO FUCKING DIE.
Her voice irritates me.
Her cooking is mediocre.
Those men she uses to explain shit need to fuck off.
Also her outfits. WHY. AND THE KITCHEN IS SO TACKY!

Also.. Pic is her without makeup.

Triple D is elder God Tier cooking programming, along with Good Eats, Jacques Pepin, America's Test Kitchen, Iron Chef, Bizarre Foods, and a few others.

Guy is a good host who makes the staff and customers happy and comfortable while he does his thing and showcases the food. Sure it's dorky, but it's better than boring or awkward hosts, or ones who try to draw attention to them instead of the food.

Oh yeah, if you ever see it on, go watch "The Best Thing I Ever Ate." It's pretty much the same concept of Diner's Drive Ins and Dives except featuring certain dishes from restaurants instead of the restaurant itself.

I like bitchin' kitchen. Its stupid, but has its charm to me. When I first saw it I thought she was the girl from Beckman's World who got her own food show. A few things I've made was a few of the cocktails and some desserts were pretty good.

>> No.4679131

Is this a joke thread? Guy Fieri is fucking awful. Even when he tries to attempt a real cooking show in Big Bite instead of all the terrible realishit FN peddles nowadays.

>> No.4679158

Guy is a big fucking douche tool, I......I kind of like him though. I really like triple D,guy is an obnoxious asshole but he's grown on me. You ever know anyone in real life whos a loud, embarrassing, obnoxious twat, but you can't help but like them? Guy is like that guy you know, the loveable douchebag.

>> No.4679290

OH NO, THE GRAVY TRAIN IS OFF THE HOOK! IT'S DYNAMITE AND HEADING RIGHT FOR FLAVOR TOWN!

in all honesty, DDD is a show with a great premise, just with a douche of a host.

>> No.4679341

I'd rather re-join the Navy than be around this guy. He's loud, obnoxious and has about 15 things he says. He can sum up something in 15 words and its the same words each place.

>> No.4679981

actually, its really not. I found out that alot of the places they feature either make it big or crash, which is more likely.
the problem is, they always go to small restaraunts, and once everyone in the area finds out, the restaraunt is swamped with orders and too often they just cant keep up and quality goes down the drain or something. its sad

thats good. im actually glad to hear that.
in my area (chicago), theres been about 5 places featured, 2 of which now are alot worse then they used to be. the other 2 are going strong, and the last one is OKAY... they reduced quality on some things, but its understandable considering the flood of customers

>> No.4680004

The reason this show is so good is because the rest of food network is complete and utter garbage. All the other shows are not about food any more but about the people making it. The only time they show how to make something is at like 7-10am when I'm never home, plus probably wouldn't watch cooking television that early anyways.

Guy is a douche, his personality is awful but he showcases the places he visits well. It's also a show that tries to focus on American food, a lot of the other travel food shows are only trying to show foreign cuisines.

Which ones have you been to?

I've been to Smoque, White Palace, Glenn's Diner, Kuma's, Tre Kronor, Big & Little's, Panozzo's, Hopleaf, Brauhaus and 90 Miles. I think almost all of them were before they aired on the show though, except I think Panozzo's, which was kinda crappy. Not sure why he went to Brauhaus instead of Laschet's.

4680031

Alton Brown did it earlier, and better.

He brought more knowledge, analysis, and love to the production, but that also costs a lot more in time and money.

Food Network, like all reality TV show producers, is constantly asking the question: "How can I make this same show, but with even cheaper production and cheaper talent?" Ex: It must cost a fraction of the time and money to make "Iron Chef" than it does to make "Chopped".

Sad, but that's business.

obviously vito and nicks, bop n grill, and this italian beef place, i forgot the name. the beef was not too bad, ive had much better though.

it is, but when you eat it twice a week for 100 weeks, its not as good as it used to be, haha.
also, stay away from the ground beef and chicken
we dont use fresh beef/chicken anymore, its some packaged shit, and im pretty sure the chicken has soy in it..
your best pizza will be a stuffed pizza with italian beef with giardinara. good ingredients, and it tastes like a giant beef sandwich

>> No.4680088

>>4680076
I don't really order ground beef or chicken, especially not on pizza.

The one I went to used to have $7 thin pizzas with one topping as a special. Used to get 2 of them, one beef and one giardinaira and put them on top of each other like a sandwich. I think the only other thing on the menu I tried besides pizza was the godfather sandwich, which wasn't bad either.

>> No.4680093

>>4680088
godfather is good, but if you like alfredo pastas, i recommend you order the pink alfredo pasta. its a little pricey, but oh my god its the best thing we have.
also, a BBQ beef sandwhich is delicious. we might have taken it off the menu, but more than likely they'll make it for you.
i used to make the BBQ beef about 1 in 5 days working there. its so good.

Here's a test or you: out of all of the stuff he tries, how much of it ISN'T "totally rad" or "completely awesome" or "a one-way ticket to Flavor Town"? The answer: NONE OF IT. It's all legendary, or awesome, or rad, or incredible.

As for his own restaurant, the NY Times' restaurant critic reviewed it, and found it woefully lacking.
