Velveeta, haha! The only American cheese. Let's keep this bumped.

>> No.4672024

use velveeta on nearly everything we use cheese for. Mac & cheese, grilled cheese, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, cheese/chilli-cheese fries, on top a baked potato, make a damn good chili-cheese dip with it. Always got 3 bricks or so in the fridge.

I'm not going to go buy a brick or wheel or whatever of 'real cheese' when there is cheese that already comes in the box or I can just use convientent liquid cheese.

For a lot of stuff like this we buy a bunch of those little tostitos nacho cheese dip cups, normally 49c but when our local walmart gets an overstock it's 2/49c, and we fill a bottle with those and use it on stuff like mac & cheese. shits pretty good.

I think Velveeta tastes decent. Its main properties are that it is shelf-stable when sealed and that it melts cleanly and easily.
You won't get the excellent taste that you can only find in artisan cheese but Velveeta macaroni and cheese has a pleasant mouthfeel and tastes "cheesy".

we hate velveeta (or any processed cheese product) not because it is awful or disgusting but because its flavor is so inferior and "empty" compared to real cheese (or at least good quality real cheese)

ignorance is bliss. I've only ever had packaged slice cheese, the powdered kind in various stove top meals, and velveeta. velveeta is king in this household, we use it when we want an extra special treat of something really gooey.
