Quiche has a crust, that's a frittata. As for comfort foods, er, poutine and butter tarts, maybe.

Sarma. Traditional Bosnian dish, but probably goes for comfort food in all of the Balkan countries. It's meat and rice wrapped in sauer kraut, looks meh but it tastes amazing. You can also add cured meat in the pot for extra flavour. Thanks for reminding me, haven't had it in a while.

oh, by 'meat and rice' i meant ground beef.

I don't think many people would consider this comfort food, but when I eat it, it feels like some ancestral German superpower starts flooding through my veins and I feel extremely content and happy.
My dinner tonight: Liverwurst and Limburger sandwich on dark rye with coarse mustard, onions and sour pickles.

It can be wrapped in different leaves, like wine leaves or something similar, but the most common or kinda standard version is with sauer kraut. I guess different cultures that are close to us have variation of sarma, I believe the Turks brought it to us.
Pic related, sarma in wine leaves

Whenever I just want to feel a heart attack coming so I know when the real thing happens, and I have an extra ten bucks to spend, my favorite twice in a year treat was the monster burger at hardees/carls.

However when they went to only thickburgers I got sad and depressed. Until they came out with..

the monster fucking thickburger.
