The Steak Egg Bagel is certainly my favorite breakfast item from there (and perhaps even my favorite fast food item, period), the greatest thing I've ever done:

Wake and bake
Steak Egg and Cheese Bagel
Sausage Egg and Cheese McMuffin (no. 2 item on the Menu)

Create a McBreakfastBang, putting the hashbrowns in the sandwich as well.

Add a round egg to make it even better.
Sometimes I'll even take half of my hashbrown and put it on my biscuit to make it even more decadent. Seriously delicious. Add a coffee, OJ, or mango-pineapple smoothie and that's my usual breakfast at McD's. Though sometimes I will opt for the oatmeal in place of a hashbrown.

Yeah, I'll pass. Where I live, Chick Fil-A is a fucking cult. I mean, it's good (they have bangin shakes and I like their actual chicken sandwiches), but I stay away from that breakfast like a plague. Def not my first choice when it comes to chicken biscuits or chicken sandwiches. Besides, if I wanted a good fast food chicken sandwich, I would choose the based Tendercrisp at BK, not Chick Fil-A.

And don't bring up the McMuffin, because it is the poster child of never-pay-money-for-this. I'm so not one of these people who preach do it yourself for better/cheaper, but honestly, to do a mcmuffin, all you have to do is fry an egg. Canadian bacon/ham comes precooked. After you finish your egg, you just throw a slice in the pan for a few seconds to warm it up.

But yeah, there are far better fast food breakfasts out there, generally including gas station food as well. Please don't inflict McDonald's breakfast on yourself.

Yeah? Think so? I'm not being crass or snide, I'm actually curious.

What brand do you suggest? I've seen some of those in the frozen aisle in the store. Jimmy Dean? Ian's? IHOP? Those are the only ones that ring a bell, aside from the store brand alternative.

I have tried those once or twice. My brother has a toaster oven, and when I was staying with him for a week or so, I'd lightly butter the biscuit, add a tomato, and use his toaster oven. Was really good, far better than simply microwaving it.

I'd also use a dab of mayo.

I don't have a toaster oven. Do you think I could still lightly butter it, and just use my regular oven and still have it get pretty crispy and tasty? I might get some next time I'm in the store.

Still, I do love the Steak, Egg, and Cheese bagel from McD's, which seems that a lot of people do.

Jimmy Dean is legit better, at least for the sausage biscuit. My favorite brand (I die a little inside as I realize that I'm not just saying that--I actually do have a favorite brand of frozen breakfast biscuits) is actually Tennessee Pride's Jumbo line. McD's biscuits have little flavor, crumble horribly, and have a meh-ish texture. Their sausage is god awful. There is legitimately no excuse for that stuff to be sold at McD's--the texture is bad, they're greasy as hell, have little flavor, and look worse than almost any microwavable sausage I've ever seen. As for the bacon, I don't know if it's because they use a weakly flavored bacon or if it is because the amount they give you compared to the rest of the sandwich is so small that it just gets lost in your mouth and only occasionally will you get bacon flavor. Their ham/canadian bacon is neither horrible nor spectacular. The biggest thing that I would consider as a positive for them is that you can get real egg with the mcmuffins.

And you're right, toaster oven is definitely the way to go with them.

Yeah, I can see shelling out money for something like that, it's just those damn mcmuffins are so much no to me--and I generally stay away from that style of breakfast (never cared for beef in practically any form in the mornings--always pork or chicken for me).
