What's for dinner /ck/? I threw a six dollar piece of meat in the crock pot this morning at 7. Home at 4 to fall apart goodness. Didn't have time to bake a potato, so I picked up some mashed at the store along with a bunch of spinach which I wilted in a pan after frying up diced bacon to toss with it. Out the door I think this cost me about 9 bucks and I'll be eating it for two days. Frugality does not mean eating crappy food.

$9 for two meals is not very frugal. Looks tasty though.

A meal this good for $4.50? I'm frugal, but not poor.

broccoli and cheese for dinner.

Lentil in spicy mint sauce. It's fucking delicious but looks like crap. Tell me guys what to do to make lentil look like anything better than mud with grits.

Hmm, I have some minced meat, and eggplants in the fridge. I guess I am going to fill those babies up. Gonna carve out the eggplants, cut the carved out eggplant up and frie it in a pan with the minced meat and some onions. Gonna ad some salt, pepper, garlic, cheese and tomato paste to the mix. When it is done I will fill it into the hollow eggplants, top it with some more cheese and put it in the stove for 30 minutes.

I get 3 frozen pizzas for €2.50. Crappy food is pretty fucking cheap.

Beautiful. If you have mushrooms in the fridge I would strongly suggest chopping them up and frying them with the eggplant.

Is it safe to leave a crockpot going going like that while you're out of the house?

>>4596177
why would you buy mash that has been sitting there and refridgerated for god knows how long when you can just boil a fucking potato?

Crockpots have been left on for hours for decades. You could just leave it on low if you're worried but it should not go past the temperature limit unless it is malfunctioning somehow or you're leaving it in direct sunlight on the hottest summer day.
