Has /ck/ ever made a roti/chapati from scratch, i.e. making/kneading dough, rolling it out, and cooking it over a iron pan?
Man, it tasted AWESOME.

No i havent

Yeah, used to do this a lot. Great way to introduce too much carbs into your diet. Would be different if you could just make two of them, but if I'm going through all that trouble I'm going to make 20 and then who's going to eat them? Not my large indian family because I have no such thing.

Enjoy your steadily growing gut.

Yeah it was more one of those things I wanted to tick off my list, it takes a surprising amount of skill to get right. Plus I'm fat anyway, I need to get my ass out more.

>> No.4549899

I salute people who do these things i.e Roti, thosai bread, but I never found the appeal since most of the time the ones at the restaurants are better and the hassle you go through isn't worth it.

Yip. It is wonderful. I have it with almost every meal.

20 roti every day added to whatever else you were already going to eat (where the actual protein, fats, vitamins, minerals, etc come from) is going to make you fat, you dumb fuck. Stop getting your advice from the /fit/ sticky and go back to posting chicken breast images from google image search.

Doesn't matter if you eat 100 roti a day, the only fat you're putting on is the fat you're eating. Learn how carbs, fat, and metabolic processes work

0/10, amazingly bad advice as usual from a /fit/fag

Good job derailing the thread, though.

He isn't a /fit/fag

If he was from /fit/, he'd talk about how carbs make you fat and how paleo diet is how mankind have always eaten and why eating a shit ton of red meat is 'totally healthy brah'

Please take your own advice but read a book because I suspect you've gotten your own info from a troll science picture.

I make mine on baking stones... Never been fully happy with the results. I have a bad habit of overworking my doughs during forming. Its an ocd issue. I just need to let it go...

I make my own naan and want to make roti, but haven't gotten around to it. I wanna recreate this amazing potato roti I had in India. I also want to experiment with dough soaking for the naan since I have trouble rolling mine out.

>> No.4550241

I do on a pretty regular basis, they make a great little snack or a solid base for breakfast (eat with scrambled eggs or sweet daal or leftovers) on days when I don't want my usual oatmeal. Once you get the process down it takes about 7-8 minutes to mix the flour, water, oil, and spices, then kneed a bit. You can go do something else for 20 minutes while the dough rests, cooking a small batch a few minutes after that.
