im going to a kick back on saturday and i have been put in charge of bringing a food for the event.

i was wondering if (on a normal barbecue; there would be a way to make some sort of gyro.). im going to use beef and lamb in the recipe.

also good BBQ ideas(for something to eat on its own while drunk).

You should be able to hire some sort of spit roast machine or buy one not sure where you live so can't really suggest any places to look, maybe ring a party hire place.
Something to eat on its own while drunk? Spicy chicken wing maybe, just cook em up on a BBQ or deep fry them.
Or calamari and chips.

What country are you in? Do people like tacos over there? Make some tacos al pastor, carne asada tacos, frijoles charros, grilled corn on the cob, and maybe even churros for dessert (fill those bitches up with cajeta).

I hungry nao.

If you have a rotisseries attachment for your grill, you can get it VERY close. With frequent turning, this can be done with a long kebab skewer as well. The secret is to season it well ahead of time, cook it over gentle heat, and then pan fry the strips right before serving. Don't forget to distribute lamb fat throughout, to keep it nice and juicy.

Here is my best attempt with chicken.
