Honestly, the worst thing in the world is frozen pizza. Not ONE brand is even remotely "ok". NONE. ALL IS BAD.

>> No.4494949

Okay.. Okay. Going to play devil's advocate here.
I'm a chef. Like, a real chef. I keep frozen lasange in my freezer. (Not Stouffer's though. Safeway brand is actually better). I keep one in the freezer per month, plus a box of garlic toast. BECAUSE, goddamn it, there are a few nights I don't' want to have to cook, but I get home too late to go out. AND, that's still better than eating fast food. It really is, don't fuck with me on that. I know ingredients. Anyway. OP, if you're eat it once in a great while (say once a month or so) you're fine. But for godsake, learn to cook because you can make much better food from scratch.

Go compare the two, ingredient for ingredient. That's one way I decided. The main detraction is that the Safeway brand only has two layers of noodles, while Stouffers has three, but Safeway uses better ingredients.

I like Stoffer's "Meat" lasagna more than anything, because it has less of that Italian kick to it, which actually works out really well. Sometimes something mild is better, think lightly sweetened tea, for example.

Every other brand is over spiced in comparison to my personal preferences.

I always keep a few frozen things stashed in the deep freeze, because there's always a day, here and there, where you just can't cook from scratch for whatever reason.
I've found this combination to be one of the better things. Cook the chicken alfredo until it's half done, then stir in the frozen veggies and whatever seasonings you like (I usually add garlic, onion, parsley, thyme, a touch of cayenne, and a shit ton of black pepper, and sometimes even a little lemon zest.) and then finish the cook time. Try making your own gyoza. They are easy to make, just take time to fold. It is pretty fun though, and you can make a couple hundred in no time and freeze them in small portions.

Gonna agree with everyone who's recommending Amy's. Their tamale pies are my favorite. SO damn good.

My favorite is this pizza that is cheese-free. It's "sauce" is carmelized onions, then it has artichoke hearts and mushrooms and the crust is very satisfying. It's too expensive, though.

I went on an Amy's only diet for a couple weeks, but overall it was too bland.

Marie Callender is quite good. Their steamable meals are really quite nice. I recommend every one of them but the horrible fajita one.

Stouffer's and Marie Calendar's. Accept no substitutes.

Don't know if they still carry it, but Wal-Mart used to sell these little frozen dinners by Zatarain's, like andouille sausage and rice. They were pretty good.

Any time Costco introduces a new frozen food, it's usually excellent. Then the manufacturer is forced to cheapen it over the next few months because of Costco's pricing policies, so it turns to shit. Lesson: buy it a few times when it first comes out, then stop before you become dissapoint.
