Had to move off campus because the university I go to decided it would be a good idea to accept more students than they had room for. Housing became a lottery for non-freshmen. I lost so I had to move off campus.
Been able to support myself for the most part up until recently. I have no savings and have been living paycheck to paycheck and the last pay period was only like 40 hours which was just barely enough to pay rent

This morning, I made several t'hod man pa (literally, "oil fish thing"), a type of Lao/Isan/Thai (called "tod man pla" in Thai, without the aspirated T-sound at the beginning) fishcake. I posted pictures here of pad thai I made with the homemade fish cake before, though I made the pad thai Muslim/southern style rather than Isan/Lao style.
Once cooled, I store them in an old tub that sandwich-sliced turkey comes in.

I made a few things today which were all new recipes. Broccoli and stilton soup (pretty good and very quick and easy to make, will make again), jerk chicken with coconut rice and beans (okay, but oddly on the bland side for jerk chicken) and raspberry-chocolate brownies, which are one of the best things I have ever crammed into my face, and as a bonus, take less than ten minutes of preparation time with virtually no work (obviously not my picture, but same recipe).
