That reminds me of how my family praises me like a chef when I'm really shit at cooking and just a little creative sometimes and can make something a little more than burnt meat or pasta. Whenever I hear my mother tell someone I'm a good cook at get pissed because it gives everyone the wrong impression of me. Then comes the question from everyone in my family "hey I heard you like to cook! blahblahblah" and I want to fucking scream at my mother to stop spreading misinformation about me.

I feel you. I did concert and jazz band all throughout highschool and whenever I'd visit my family they'd ask me a fuck-ton of music related questions and what I thought of so and so's death or contribution to music. Holy fuck! I just played the bass, leave me alone!

Now I'm studying computer engineering and the questions have changed, "Why is my netflix slow?" God, I cringe at every question they're all completely unrelated to anything I have studied. Ask me about the properties of integrals or circuit theory, not about how to hook up a fucking mouse.
